Excellent Replacement Knob Handle Kit for Tub/Shower
Installation was a breeze. The kit includes the necessary button and set screw, as well as clear instructions that are easy to follow. Within minutes, I was able to replace my old worn-out handle with this new one, without any hassle or additional tools required. The fit was precise, and the handle securely fastened to the valve. Fits all crystal handles. You need to remove the plastic hexagon
I hope this review finds the right audience. The HEXAGON shape is the remains of your old handle. That plastic hexagon nut needs to be removed to expose a metal shaft. The metal shaft is what has the DIAMOND shape that fits into the new handle. To remove the old hexagon just pull on it. I have two 30 year old handles in which I removed them by hand.

OFF CENTER MOUNTING POST.
As stated by so many others, there needs to be a picture of the bottom of the handle. That is the reason for the 4 star vice 5 star review. It is essential information that is lacking. A picture would provide this information as well. This faucet handle, the RP17451, fits the diamond shaped stem and comes with a hexagonal nylon insert that fits on the diamond shaped stem, and the hexagonal hole in the handle fits on the insert. The hexagonal mounting hole is not centered, it is offset. A picture would provide this information as well. It also has a stainless steel screw. The handle being replaced is a centered mount, and this handle worked for my faucet.

It worked
inexpensive handle for a Delta shower faucet that had its handle missing for years. I don't even remember what style it was. We were using a wrench to turn the faucet on and off. This replacement looks a little wonky because the hole seems to be off center but once I got in on the piece that sticks out I was able to screw it on tightly. Good enough! beats the wrench approach.

Oooo Nice Looking
Beautiful.. after my old disintegrating one you see here. Don't need to turn water pipes off to change this type of handle on sink faucet; it's just a decorative handle. Other reviews helped me immensely. I used my electric screwdriver because that old screw was in there really good, too tough to move by my little hands. Then had to scrub base clean with TILEX Clorox-Mildew-Mold spray and a squirt of ECCOS (prevents mold) before putting new one on. Guessed as to connection, which I don't recommend ;D .. Just pop the center and unscrew your handle if it's this type and look underneath. So lovely looking for so little!!!

Have an old hexagon stuck on your stem? This is the RIGHT new handle for you.
This was an easy install once I realized that the plastic hexagonal piece that was attached to the end of the stem was NOT supposed to be there and needed to be removed. The handle I was replacing was installed over 20 years ago, and over that time the hexagon insert attached itself to the stem, so when I removed the old handle, the hexagon insert stayed behind. This is not a hard situation to remedy, but after searching online I must say there is a LOT of bad advice and inaccurate assumptions that this hexagon is meant to be there and that there must be a replacement handle that it will fit. SIMPLE SOLUTION: Try to gently pry the plastic hexagon off the stem. If it won't come off, clean the stem and hexagonal piece well with vinegar and water. Try to gently scrape off any residue that might be making the hexagon piece stick. If it still won't come off, apply Goo Gone or something similar inside and around the edge of the hexagon piece. I used a Q-tip for this, and it came off fairly easily afterward, where initially it wouldn't budge. With the old hexagon piece removed from the stem, installing this knob was a breeze. Simply screw it into place and snap on the cap. This is a very inexpensive fix for an unsightly, cracking old handle. 5 stars.

Just what I needed
