The Holy Family Statue looks great at church.

The statue arrived a few days before my son's Eagle Scout project work day and we installled the statue into a prayer garden. The statue looks great and many compliments have been received on his Eagle Scout project. The Holy Family is a fitting center for the prayer garden with roses and other flowers, concrete benches, and a paver walkway just across from the chuch sanctuary. We have also shared the concept with others scouts for future projects based on the quality and beauty of the Design Toscano Holy Family statue. God bless and thanks, Thomas Martin

Great Statue For Indoor Use

This statue is quite a bit different that other Toscano statues that I own in that it is not entirely hollow inside, which is a huge improvement in my opinion. It is also much more reasonably priced than other Toscano products, which I assume is largely due to the fact that it is also considerably shorter. This means less money spent on materials as well as on shipping. First, for those who are not aware of it, Toscano uses some type of composite material to construct their statues. Part of it is ground stone. However, the majority of the material used is a type of resin. While they do not reveal the exact ingredients of the resin, most resins that I know of consist of plastics. This makes their statues VERY light compared to stone, concrete or any other product you traditionally see used in outdoor sculptures. As such, they are not going to last as long exposed to the elements as these heavier and more dense materials. It also allows them to sell their products at a lower price than others, since the shipping costs on stone or concrete statues are extremely expensive and they tend to break during transport. As other reviewers have noted, this sculpture is really more appropriate for indoor use, due to the materials that it is made of. Fortunately, the statue comes with "feet" on the bottom to keep it from scraping your floors or furniture. As an indoor statue I think that it is a great product and definitely worth the price. If you are looking for something to put outdoors that will last for generations and can not be easily walked off with by anyone being able to lift 9 lbs, you would be better off looking at a local home or garden center.

This is a nice little piece that is a bit heavier per the size than some of the other Design Toscano pieces. It has a bit more weight and density to it. Mine arrived fine and when I opened it, it fell out and the round piece behind his head cracked in half and of course I was horrified but with a little super glue you can't tell it ever happened. Thankfully the break was so clean that the designer him or her self would never know it has ever been broken. We are debating what to do with it because he wants to put it outdoors and I don't so for now it's sitting in my house while we decide the fate but considering how it broke and how it was such an easy fix combined with the quality and the price I think it's a 4 star item. *If this review helped you make an informed choice about this product in any way I would appreciate it if you take a moment of your time and let me know by hitting the Helpful button and letting me know. this is lovely but it had small chips out of it ,as l am going to spray it gold l hope they will not show, would have been 5 stars other wise.
