Good looking statue but ....

It's a nice statue and does what it says but it is extremely lightweight a light wind will knock it over and break it which is what happened to me. Head came right off. I did not buy the base just the statue. So if you just buy the statue then make sure you make some sort of base for it. Maybe even add plaster of paris to the inside to help weigh it down.

Good enough

I set this in the shallows of the pond and it worked better. The hole for water to flow is a tad to narrow. An indentation in the base would've been helpful for thing so it would sit flush. It is to light and falls over without weighting

Always a sight to see

This is the 2nd time I've bought this little peeing boy fountain to grace us with his rather insouciant presence. At my last house he was in a bed of asian jasmine in the garden around the side of the house visible from the window in the guest bathroom, but at this house he greets my guests right by the front door. Like other reviewers have noted, he does get after it - maybe Toscano should consider a slightly less powerful pump. He doesn't overshoot the basin, but the splash is considerable. To stop the splashing affect which was causing too rapid water loss from the basin, I added a small but tall jar (really a vase) into the basin, with a hole drilled into the bottom of it, which he pees into now and the splash stays within the vase. Even so, I add a few cups of water to the basin every few days or so, more often after very windy days. I put some rocks into basin to keep the vase in place, because birds and squirrels and neighborhood cats do like to come get a drink - I guess it's a local watering hole for animals. Anyhoo, when this thing arrived I had a problem getting this statue to fully and squarely seat itself on the basin because the metal pin that comes out of the bottom of the statue was at a slight angle which didn't let the pin fully insert into the hole on the top of the basin. In other words, the hole was plumb (straight vertical) but not the corresponding pin. I guess I could have returned the statue, but I ended up just enlarging the hole a little bit (not that easy since it's actually a metal cylinder) to get the two parts get into better alignment. The statue is not heavy, but it's not exactly lightweight either. I've had him for about year now and he's survived a lot of very windy days. Both the basin and statue need cleaning occasionally due to accumulation of algae. But nothing's maintenance free in home ownership.

Love it

I bought this statue for my husband for Father's day. He always said he wanted one. It did not disappoint. Good quality and very cute. Does come covered in a powdery substance and very strong smell out of the box though so if you are asthmatic just be aware. After hosing it down and setting it up, it didn't take long for the smell to go away. If you are buying the statue alone you will need to anchor it to something or it will fall over. We anchored it to piece of a 2x8 and slide the board up under the edge of our pond and covered with mulch it's been holding up well for several weeks now. I found this to be a good price overall for what you get.

Very lightweight, easy assembly

Lightweight, not heavy at all. Packaged VERY well! Found that it may be blown away during a windy day so I called the mfg to see if the only thing that holds the boy to the shell is a 2 inch metal pin? There are no instructions on assembly or list of package contents. They assured me that 2inch metal pin was all that was included and I was not missing any pieces as I thought. Very easy to put together. I placed zip tie around the statue's neck linked to the patio fence as to be safe that he wouldn't topple over during our windy days, just to be safe. I placed blue glass pebbles in the shell instead of using a water dye to avoid the shell from staining. Refer to images. Overall, I love it. Oh, on the first day I had the fountain on it was an extremely windy day and the pump was on high. When I checked up on the boy a few hours later, the shell was completely empty of water! Because the pump was on high and the wind was strong, his pee flow was going over the shell and the water simply drained dry. Very lightweight

Like this little guy real well. Bought him for my goldfish pond and to irritate my wife. But to my surprise she likes it. A little more detail than I thought he would be! Very easy to set up didn't take 10 minutes. Looks very nice. He is very lightweight so you have to make sure he is secured. If you have him in a goldfish Pond as I do and he falls over it can drain your pond, (he is on the edge of my pond on the bank) I buried his base which I did not want it to show because I wanted a more natural look.???? we call him Louis because he reminds us of our great nephew. He's not modest in the lease! Of course at that age you don't have to be. Would buy again very please! And no I do not think he looks like plastic or looks cheap has a very nice appearance

Appauling design, can't stand flat due to inlet pipe

Appauling design!!!! I have unpacked this item to install next to my pond, put it on the floor and it has fallen straight over and snapped. THE PIPE IS RUNNING OUT OF THE BOTTOM OF THE STATUE - surely this isn't right?!?! Why is the item not designed with a channel for the hose/Pipe to run through? The hose runs underneath the item causing it to be off balance and would of sat wonky on the ground. This item would not and will not stand flat. Very poorly designed. Very disappointed

Wonderful statue, great workmanship. It looks great in my backyard. We used Gorilla epoxy to glue the pedestal to the water fountain base and the boy to the water fountain to prevent from being knocked over by strong winds. When gluing make sure the power cord goes on the outside instead of the hole provided so that it can be removed in the winter.

Nice water feature and happy with the product / quality

The media could not be loaded. This water feature adds a little European culture to my backyard pond. I had read previous reviews about it not coming with easy connection fittings, but I went to my pond supply store and they were able to hook me up with some hose, pump and fittings. I connected it to a 30 GPH pump and that is just enough to make the water flow look realistic.

Niedlicher kleiner Kerl

Er ist zwar klein, aber für meine Zwecke genau richtig. Ich liebe den kleinen Kerl, wie er verschmitzt schaut ????. Auf jeden Fall ein klares ???????? von mir. Anmerkung: Das Podest haben wir eingegraben, damit er bei starkem Wind nicht umfällt.
