Best little portable knife sharpener

Purchased 4 of these for family for Christmas. I already had one I'd received from a co-worker, so I knew how well it put a good edge on my kitchen knives. So far, the one's I gifted are getting rave reviews. Perfect gift.

Plastic chipped the first time I opened it.

Built chip. Piece of plastic broke off the first time I opened it. Maybe I got a bad one. Still usable but I have to be extra careful with it.

Sharpens well with practice!

These are great for knife sharpening of all types. Does take some practice, so don't be discouraged! I have sharpened hundreds of knives with these!

Stone works great, but they are not the same thickness as ...

Stone works great, but they are not the same thickness as the diafolds that come with the magna-align kit and will sharpen at a different angle. This was a big oversight on DMT's part and the plastic mold could have easily been made larger to keep the different versions the same thickness. A 0.050" spacer will have to be glued to the non-sharpening side to correct this.

is great to take in a back pack

This sharpening Steel from DMT, is great to take in a back pack, or to keep close by while cleaning Fish and other type of Game when hunting, wet it take a few strokes with your edge, you will have a very sharp Knife. I have Gifted 5 of them to Family and Friends, They love them. DMT Have a better edge of LIFE.

This worked like a charm

This worked like a charm. I do quite a bit of camping and needed a way to keep my knives sharp without always using my sharpening stone. Its light, easy to use, and gets the job done. I use it with a more course version too to get that sharpness were all looking for.

Didn't last

I had purchased a similar product at Woodworkers' Warehouse years ago. I still have it, but wanted another to keep in my car. Just a few months after purchase, this one feels like there is no "grit" left whatsoever. Guess diamonds really aren't forever!

Best sharpener I have ever used.

This is the third DMT sharpener I have had in the past 20 years. When people see how sharp my knife is they ask me ti sharpen theirs. I cant say enough good things about the DMT FWF Diafold sharpener.
