Very short time of product life

It is good at first, but after just 3 times usage, it is losing their sharpening power gradually. It seems the diamond particles feel offed from metal. I bought several diamond sharpening stone, rod, etc, and experienced same problem. I will not buy diamond sharpening tools any more.

Good useful sharpening tools for knifes

Over the 50+ years I have been sharpening tools, I have seen and used a wide variety of stones, carborundum (old time technology), Arkansas natural stone, steel hones, and no name stones. This mini-hone diamond dust set has become my favorite for knives including ceramic knifes. Use all three or at least the mid and fine grades and water for lubrication / wash. They work great. They are not the best for narrow places such as tool bits. I also have some small 1/4 wide diamond "files" that work better for small carbide tooling. I have not used them long enough to know how long till the diamond dust falls off. They don't need much force. I suspect if you use a lot of force you may damage the tool by flexing the sheet metal that the diamonds are embedded to. That is why I give them only 4 stars.

Good for sharpening garden clippers.

While I have other knife sharpeners that run the blades through, they don't work with hand clippers and loppers. These, if I'm very careful to sharpen and not blunt the edges, work pretty well.

Good, but don't last long

I like these little diamond stones a lot. Unfortunately, all of the diamonds wore off of the coarse stone within just a few weeks. The other two are holding up fine.

It has an offset handle

I knew there are two versions for these files: one straight and another offset handle. Mine came with offset handle I prefer for odd angled sharpening. For beginners on that kind of product be aware these files will bear a break in process where the impression for a newcomer is they will lost their abrasive effectiveness. Do not be fouled by that "common sense" conclusion. It is normal after a short period the files looked dulled - but actually they aren't, that is their "normal" state. I recommend they for smaller sharpening needs as a small knife or tool.

Great for sharpening pruners and loppers.

I use these all the time for sharpening my gardening tools. There are three different "levels" of grit, from fine to coarse. I like that they're different colors. They are easy to hold and easy to move against the blade for sharpening. This is my second set, but my first set last a good long while--and I used them a lot.

A Second Set For Sis

Now I can finely hone all my sister's knives at her house. These things last forever and work extremely well. I prefer DMT over the other brands, as their grading is better and they change less from brand new to used.

I like DMT products

I like DMT products. Have three sets of these scattered about the house and shop. Hardest task for me is keeping each set together. Use a light touch, these are not carborundum tool stones.

So far so good, I use frequently

So far so good, I use frequently. One of my coworkers uses the blue mini hone almost everyday, he has had this mini-hone for over 4 years! Buy this North American made product!!!!!! I use in a CNC machine shop, for Deburring parts and sharpening inserts for special applications.
