Sandals Dr. Martens ir leģendu vītne. Viss sākās netālu no Minhenes, Vācijā, 1945. gadā, kad doktors Klauss Maertens slēpošanas negadījumā Bavārijas Alpos savainoja pēdu. Lai atvieglotu staigāšanu dzīšanas procesā, viņš izstrādāja apavus ar gaisa polsterētu zoli. Izmantojot vecās gumijas riepas, viņš uzbūvēja zoles, kurām slēgtos nodalījumos bija ieslodzīts gaiss. Viņš parādīja savu prototipu savam inženierim/izgudrotājam Dr. Herbertam Funkam, un viņi kopā nolēma izstrādāt un ražot apavus. Apavi ne tikai atrisināja ārsta tūlītēju problēmu, bet arī sāka labi pārdoties Vācijā. Līdz 1959. gadam abi nolēma, ka viņiem ir nepieciešams uzņēmums, kas ražo un izplata apavus, tolaik saukts par Dr. Maertens, citās pasaules daļās. Sākumā daudzi ražotāji noraidīja gaisa polsterētas zoles koncepciju kā īslaicīgu triku. Tomēr R. Griggs Group, kas atrodas Volstonas ciematā Anglijā, nolēma turpināt šo ideju, radot pirmos darba zābakus ar revolucionāro zoli. 1960. gada pirmajā aprīlī tika ražoti pirmie ķiršsarkanie astoņu cilpu darba zābaki, kas nosaukti par 1460. Lai zīmolu labāk pārdotu Anglijā, nosaukums tika anglisizēts ar nosaukumu Dr. Martens. Sortimentam bija AirWair zīmols, un pārējais ir vēsture.

Very stylish men’s wear

As an almost 40 year-old man, I love the way these look on my feet. The contrast of the several black straps against my white skin is eye-catching, especially with the leather being shiny. I just love the simple, traditional look to these. No fancy designs or colors. Just black leather and black rubber. Simple, elegant and stylish for anyone, any outfit or any occasion. They caused painful abrasions and blisters at first, but now I can comfortably wear them all day. When first wearing them, I recommend wearing socks and only walking short distances, giving your feet time to recover until the leather softens and molds to your feet.

Black dye come off on feet

When my old Doc Marten sandals finally broke, I found that that model had been discontinued, so I tried these as the closest approximation. The leather is noticeably thinner than the old model, but the fit and workmanship are good. With a little breaking in, I expect the leather to soften up and become even more comfortable. The only negative is that the strap of the instep is rubbing black dye onto the top of my foot! After I noticed it, I started wearing socks (how lame is that -- socks with sandals?), so now it's rubbing black dye onto my socks. Quite noticeable with white socks, not at all noticeable with black socks. If you're up for wearing black socks with your sandals, you have no problem. Otherwise...

First pair of Dr. Martens Sandals in love

I decided to purchase these sandals after months of lusting. I’m really happy with my purchase. I wear a 7 1/2 in women’s and I purchase a 4uk and 5uk and for myself the 4uk felt better as this is a unisex size. The 5uk felt a bit big and I was worried that if once broken in I would end up with blisters as usually any sandals that have extra space end up rubbing against my ankles. These have to be broken in make no mistake! I’m slowly getting there but it’s worth it every time I wear them I get compliments galore! :)

Well made and nice looking sandal

These sandals are great. They're made really well and I love the way they look. Unfortunately, I had to send them back - sizing was sort of confusing and I ordered the wrong size. They're way too small (I thought it was a Men's size 5, but it was a Woman's size 5). Thankfully Dr. Martens website did a full size restock today and I was able to get my correct size from there. Would definitely recommend these, though. Just be careful with the sizing. Edit: I've had my sandals for a couple weeks now and after nearly two weeks of daily wear they're finally broken in. Be warned that the break in process is a bit rough, but you have to be persistent. Once they're broken in, they're amazing!

runs a bit small but it's ok

Came as expected, runs a bit small but my size is not available in Dr. Martens sizes (EU 36.5) so it's fine. The only thing is, front band is transferring black color to my feet because leather is colored black but it's expected. I hope it will phase out eventually. Aside from this, it's a great shoe!

A little narrow to be "unisex"

These sandals seem to be a perfect women's size 11. However, they are narrow and I think some men would find it hard to wear. They were stiff at first, but upon wearing them a few hours, they softened up and have become very comfortable.

Comfiest sandals I ever had

Looks great, modern but with timeless doc martens appeal. As for comfort - I think it's an individual case by case issue. I have narrow feet and they are honestly the most comfortable sandals I ever had. Have not experienced any blisters and did not need to break them in what so ever. Fits like a glove. Also, with the sole you get what you pay for, the stability is worth it alone. I had a little strain before and with any type of dr. marten it's much more stable and supporting, than any soft material sneaker. It ticked all the boxes for me.

Best sandles ever!! So comfy and have lived in these all summer including wearing every day walking around Orlando parks, no blisters, sore feet or anything! I am usually a size 7 but got these in a 6 after reading reviews to get a size bigger, and they fit perfect!
