It’s an Emerson down rod.

This was purchased for a Midway eco fan even though I know the manufacturer states it is not compatible with the 2.5 rod. That being said as a previous reviewer stated there are some modifications that can be made to the hanger ball. By notching/cutting a grove into the hanger it can be made to be compatible allowing the pin to slide into place. This can be achieved with a rotary cutting tool and takes a little trial and error so you don’t remove to much material and significantly reduce the integrity of the hanger. Once this is complete hanging and wiring the fan can be very difficult it took me a solid 45 minutes to finish something that normally takes 5. If you choose to make this work the last issue you might run into is the fan at top speed is a bit louder and blows a little less air compared to when installed with a longer down rod. Overall a great down rod the color matched the fan perfectly and if your fan is compatible with it no modifications will be required.

Works well, difficult to fit

Short length makes it difficult to lift fan into ceiling fixture/cradle when the shroud is in place. But it works fine, no vibration, etc. and there's no obvious alternative if you need a short drop.
