Pouring is frustrating at first
I wanted to send this back but I stuck with it. Trying to pour it at first was so frustrating. I have learned that if you gently tip it and let it pour slowly it will not pour it all over your countertop from the bottom of the container. I use it every day now.

Sturdy, high-quality glass
I like the fact that this is a better quality, thermal shock-resistant glass. I like the large markings. Responding to another commenter, I can't say if the dishwasher will wash off the markings. I mostly use it to measure water, so that hasn't come up yet. The glass is heavy; I can't say of it's heavier that other 1-qt measuring cups, but it might be. It's maybe a little thicker than usual. I have 2 complaints. First, the handle seems a little shorter than usual, so it's a 3-finger grasp for me; this is problematic given the cup's weight. It's hard to balance or leverage when full. For some, it may be a 2-handed enterprise. My second complaint seems endemic to the style. Short of literally dumping the water into my cup/pot, it always back-spills from the spout and trickles on to the floor/table/counter. Why this design flaw seems universal and hasn't been fixed in at least 100 years (we've sent men to the Moon!!) is totally beyond me. It would seem to be a minor spout redesign, but there must be more to it, or it would have been done by now.

This thing does everything well, except for one. It would not pour liquids, to save it's sorry glass. Here is a brief recap:- Markings, toughness & unbreakability - 5 stars Distance between cup & handle - 5 stars Pouring liquids - 0 stars This cup makes such a mess when pouring out liquids, that you're lucky if you manage to get one ounce into your bowl.

Poorly Designed Spout
I bought this borosilicate measuring cup with 16 oz capacity primarily for heating water for tea in my microwave. Invariably, no matter how slowly I pour, a couple of tablespoons of water end up on the kitchen counter. On the upside, the borosilicate composition seems to repel the calcium "dust" that used to quickly build up on the container I used to use for this purpose. And the measurements are large and easy to read. Some reviewers have complained about the sticker on the inside bottom of the cup. I agree, it's a stupid place to put a sticker, and it's stuck on there pretty good. The solution for me was to fill with a few ounces of water and boil in the microwave for a minute or two, following which most of the sticker can be removed. The remaining residue can be removed with a drop of dishwashing detergent, a wadded up paper towel, and a little elbow grease. (But why didn't they put the sticker on the outside bottom and use less stubborn glue?) But, seriously, that spout needs to be redesigned. It needs to be WIDER and DEEPER. UPDATE: I haven't read everyone else's reviews of this product, so maybe someone else has alread made this suggestion: To avoid slops on the counter, disregard the malfunctioning SPOUT. Instead, pour the liquid over the rim of the mug that is equidistant between the spout and the handle on the thumb side. Voila! No more having to mop up counter.

The only borosilicate cup I could find on Amazon
Update May 6, 2022. Wow. I just noticed the price change and had to comment. Back in June 2020, this cup was only $11.99 or $9.60 with a 20% discount. But as of today, May 6, 2022, I see the price is now $29.32. Yes I know this is Amazon and the prices here are constantly changing (Sometimes daily it seems.) But a near 300% jump in two years is quite a steep. Fortunately, Faberware isn't the only 1000ml borosilicate glass measuring cup on Amazon anymore. There are other options available now. As for the Faberware meassuring cup. It has held up great. I still use it today. June, 4 2020 This is pretty much the only borosilicate measuring cup you will find on Amazon in this size and at this price. Unlike some reviews, I didn't have any issues with the sticker. It came off easily and left no residue at all. If it did, Just use WD-40 and it will clean it right off. I've used WD-40 to cleanly remove roofing tar off my hands, so sticker residue is nothing. Just make sure to wash the cup thoroughly afterwards. The spout hasn't been problematic either. It pours just fine. But I do tend to pour slowly so maybe that's why. If the spout was an issue, I'd just take my propane torch and carefully heat the spout and just shape it better. It's Borosilicate glass. thermal shock won't break it. It can but not if you know what you're doing.

The Glass is durable, the Markings.... not so much
I bought this Measuring Cup for my wife to replace a Soda-Lime Measuring cup, which inexplicably broke while putting it away. As stated, the Farberware is made of the more durable Borosilicate Glass, like the classic PYREX glassware company before they became pyrex(all lower-case). Unfortunately, we've found that the Markings have come off after a couple of months of regular use. I have used my dishwasher to clean it most of the time, but you'd think this kitchen tool wouldn't be affected by the heat, but I guess it is. Currently the Markings are faint, but not completely invisible, so it is still workable. If you do decide to purchase this product, hand wash only I guess.

what idiot puts a permanent sticker on the inside bottom of a food measuring cup
The product is fine, however, it took lots of effort and then the use of nail polish remover to get the manufacturers sticker off the inside bottom of the cup. Not the outside but the inside. For the extra couple of bucks I'd recommend the Pyrex instead and avoid the frustration of their foolishness.

I confirmed it's accuracy. A+
After reading one review it was off, I was concerned, but ordered it anyway with the idea I would return it if it was defective, as I liked the dimensions. That being said I used a scale with water to confirm the ml, and it is BANG on. I also confirmed cup measurements and it was bang on as well. However - with the line markings being so thick, the meniscus is behind it so take note to not have it above the line.
