7 Years Old And Still Phenomenal (especially in Gray/Silver)
In a nutshell, Gamma Amp Ocho is a fantastic poly, provided you set it up properly. I'm writing this review in particular for the Gray/Silver color Ocho, which, like many other aluminum/silver-colored variants of other strings, is the more crisp/explosive of the two colors. I'd liken Ocho's playability to that of a slightly firmer Tourna Silver 7 Tour, but with a much more linear power response, and a rebound that doesn't bag out or slingshot as much as S7T after the initial few hitting sessions -- a very nice benefit for flatter hitters like myself. Ocho also holds tension extremely well and maintains enough edge sharpness to still offer good ball bite well into the later part of its life. That said, Ocho is by no means a soft comfort poly. It's definitely on the stiffer, crisper side of things and if you string it too high, it can and will turn into an shock propagator and an arm killer. There are mainly two solutions for this: 1) string Ocho at 5+% lower tension versus more normal-stiffness polys, and/or 2) hybrid Ocho in the mains with a softer, slick poly in the crosses. I do the latter with Head Hawk, which is just supple enough to add some touch and forgiveness, plus it's slicker than Ocho, so it also allows for better and longer-lasting snapback than playing a full bed of Ocho. Overall, Gamma has got one of the best shaped polys out for those who want a stiffer, crisper, lightly shaped option with an excellent balance of control and power, plus top-notch tension maintenance and durability. Even 7 or so years after its inception, it's still one of the best. Well done Gamma!

Love it!
I love this string! I use open string pattern racquets and like to spin the ball. I was breaking strings constantly and was looking for a poly for a little more durability. I found other polys to be hard and had trouble spinning the ball especially on serves. I put this Gamma Ocho in to try it and fell in love with it. It felt softer to me giving me better feel yet I could really spin my shots. The harder and more aggressive I am with my stroke produces better results keeping the ball in. If I baby a stroke it dives into the net. If I hit it harder it goes up and over and spins down into the court. Downside is a little higher price. I'm currently trying another spin string, the Yolkl Cyclone however so far it feels a little harder to me. I have to play with it a lot more to give it a fair test. Only trying it because it is under half the cost of the Gamma Ocho. You must try a string for yourself based on the frame you are using and your style of play.

Get them and let it rip
I am in Love with these strings!!! I’ve been trying so many hybrid set ups and different strings and just could not find a fit for my game. I also was popping strings way too often. I use a Babolat Pure Aero plus racquet and hit with a lot of topspin. I’m only a 4.0 - 4.5 player. I got these strings and strung them at 55 lbs. AMAZING!!!! I noticed great changes right away. I was getting more pop, depth and a much higher RPM on my ground strokes. These strings grab the ball and you’ll see the green fuzz fly. I’ve played about 15 sets of tennis so far and haven’t noticed much if any loss of tension or wear on the strings. They also seem to stay in position more than any other string I’ve played with.

A replacement for a long time favorite
I've used 17G Gamma Ruff for decades. With its discontinuance tried this string. Good bite, adequate power, but rough on the hand and elbow, not very forgiving. Actually thinner than the same 17G ruff strings. Was concerned about the bite, but has proven to be close to that of the ruff.
