Very straightforward installation, but the fittings supplied with this filter only allow for its installation as a direct insert into a mains cold water supply line. I wanted to supply filtered water to a refrigerator, and to a separate single drinking water faucet at the kitchen sink (HOMEIDEAS Single Handle Drinking Water Faucet – available on Amazon) only, so I had to buy additional plumbing fittings and pipe to make the extra connections. Even so, this item was an easy fit under the kitchen sink and altogether took about three hours. The filter has definitely improved the taste of our drinking water, and with no apparent reduction in pressure - it is rated for six months / 2000 gallons. We're only using about 600 gallons of drinking quality water per year and, as I have filtered and unfiltered cold water side-by-side, it will be easy to do taste checks as time goes by and I'll carry on using the filter until the water taste deteriorates - hopefully about two years!

No issue with the filter assembly. However, one of the batteries for the timer seems to be leaking.

Excellent px, easy to install (or replace existing setup) ...
I've had flow issues with this GE filter system since about 1 year after I first installed it. This one seems to work as it should after a week or so, so it's certainly no worse than the filters I've purchased in HD.. Definitely a good deal at $20.00 for the full setup, especially given that the filter alone sells for about $36.00. I'm sure I'll eventually have the same flow problems with this setup as I had with the first I installed, but at this price point, it's still a steal.

Bad Pressure/ Hot water overwhelms it
The product came just fine. The price was fine. The plumber tried installing it and 2 problems happened. 1. The cold water pressure went down to about 10% of what it was 2. There was no ability to have room temperature water. If you move the faucet even a bit it turns super hot fast. Makes the sink not functional. I'll be attempting to return it/get it exchanged

Not worth ruining your home!
I bought several of these. All of them were installed correctly. One of the units must have had a defect and the compressions fitting came loose and flooded my house. Ive contacted GE to see if they could take a look and see what the defect was. It's been over a month with several calls and two emails. They have not gotten back to me. I have since taken all of the units out of my home for fear that another fitting will fail.

Expensive, not sure I would install this brand again. A huge pain to change filters. Unless you are a wrestler.

Gives you "spring water" taste from mediocre tap water
Very easy to change these filters. We had this installed during our kitchen renovation and it has turned our "not so wonderful" tap water into delicious "spring like" water. We love it - simple, easy and much cheaper and more convenient than buying spring water.

Delivery not as indicated
Well, the original order area said delivery in 4 -6 days, got one of two four weeks later, and a note saying the other one will be delivered in another month. The strange thing is, I ordered the replacement filter, and received the complete filter unit. Makes me wonder where they came from.

Great filter tested the water before and after and quite a difference.
These work great at my condo in Mexico now we can wash fruits and veggies with tap water in the sink no more need for the iodine drops.
