Filters seems ridiculously expensive But....the knockoffs didn't work at all- wouldn't fit

I HAte the cost of something that actually looks pretty basic with a thin layer of a filter over corrigated 'paper' filter (HEPA) but....it Is what it is and it did not work in my case to try the cheaper 'generic' brands and these name brand filters DO work - they are Filthy when it's time to change them so better there than in the air -

Watch for sizes

I put the information from my air purifier in and this is the replacement filter that it said I needed. When I received it, it was too big for my purifier, I needed the B replacement but it said the C replacement was the correct one for the air purifier I have.

Works well, but why so pricey?

My allergist recommended I get air purifier with a HEPA filter for my bedroom. This one works well. It traps quite a bit of dust and pet hair when I vacuum it out or change it when due. The filter itself lasts about for to five months, which is quite acceptable. The only negative is the price, which is $35. Together with the UV bulb at $25, the air purifier can be a bit pricey to operate. But it does work.

Purifier flashing with new filter

I recently put the new filter in but the machine is flashing as if it needs a new filter. Is it defective? Update: I found the reset method online. Hold the uv button for 3 seconds to reset the flashing light. Too bad I didn’t get that info here. Updated the rating though.

Expensive to replace - but it's well worth the money for cleaner air

I bought the GermGuardian Air Purifier in anticipation of adopting a cat. I have it running on low all day, every day - so I've had to change the filter sooner than the estimated 6 months. In my case, I usually have to change it after 4 or 5 months and I've been using the GermGuardian for 2 years now. My husband and I have allergies to dust and dander, so this filter has helped tremendously in keeping that under control. I also love to cook, so when I'm making a particularly aromatic dish, I turn my air purifier on the highest setting while cracking the window open slightly. Yes, the replacement filters are expensive, but it's a small price to pay for cleaner, fresher smelling air. The difference in air quality is noticeable when you contrast the moment the 'change the filter' indicator comes on, to the hour after replacing it with a new one. To put it into perspective as to how many impurities have been captured by the filter, have a look at the comparison photo of an old vs new filter (the old, dirty filter is bagged in plastic as to not allow the dust to escape). It's alarming to know what we would be breathing in without the use of this air purifier filter.

Does what it's supposed to, fits well in my GermGuardian Air Purifier. Nice that it comes with the carbon filter too (which I didn't know). My only reason for 3 stars is the cost. Crazy that after a couple years I will have spent more on filters then I did on the air purifier itself!! First time replacing my filter which lasted me like 9 months, but still $45 for a filter isn't cheap. I will try blowing it out with compressed air next time, will see how that goes.

Ya get 4 of them

First time changing the filter. I had to figure out to make a little hole in plastic to click the reset hepa filter button. I used a large paper clip. I thought I was only getting one filter but it's a box of 4. It fit perfectly, and assume it will work well. I bought extra GermGuardian Air Purifier GENUINE Carbon Filter 4-Pack for use with FLT5000 HEPA Filter C for AC5000… for changing in between hepa filter changes.

Clean air is essential. Good job.

Guadian does an excellent job. Filters work very well. Rather expensive but worth it. I have 2 Ultra Violet units and they work wonders for the quality of my homes air.
