secret is in the smaller nozzles, not the air inlet
I tried this 10" Hansgrohe rainshower product vs. a Grohe 12" (#27478000 ) in the same shower. We had the Grohe first and found the output pressure to be somewhat disappointing, so I figured the fewer nozzles of a 10" head in addition to the positively reviewed Hansgrohe "Air" feature would address the situation. It did indeed make the pressure satisfactory, but for a few other reasons I can't say we're happier with this Hansgrohe: 1) the Hansgrohe produces erratic output under very low pressure. The water doesn't come out of the nozzles evenly and becomes directed at weird angles. (See below for some speculation as to why this is.) Low pressure can happen if you split the water between the shower head and a hand spray, or your shower has an "eco" setting like ours does. The 12" Grohe, despite having many more nozzles, handled the lower pressure gracefully-- reduced output but still perfectly even. 2) the Grohe looks better to us on account of its smooth, mirrored face. This Hansgrohe has a surface resembling a water ripple which is a little busy for my taste. 3) the Grohe is all metal, while this Hansgrohe I believe has a plastic face. (The lighter weight may count as an advantage to some if you're concerned about your plumbing supporting all that weight.) It's not a complaint against this item, but I'll also note that a 12" shower head is much more impressive visually than a 10". (Hansgrohe does have a 12" model as well.) As an engineer I feel impelled to speculate why the Hansgrohe is relatively erratic at low pressures, and the real role of the air inlet. I suspect the Hansgrohe has smaller diameter nozzle holes, and it's for this reason it puts out higher pressure than other brands. However, like a container of fluid where you punch a single small hole and the liquid doesn't come out easily, it's essential that there be another opening. Hence the "Air" feature, which is just such an opening at the center of the shower head and a necessity to let the water flow freely despite the smaller nozzle diameter. As others have noted, if you plug the hole with your finger it substantially reduces the output pressure. Apparently though, the air inlet technique has its limitations and breaks down at lower pressure vs. a shower head that just has larger nozzles. Overall this 10" Hansgrohe is fine and I can see why people like it, but I think we'll be going back to the 12" Grohe despite the lower water output.

Perfect
I have had a few rainfall overhead shower heads so I am picky, and believe you get what you pay for in life. This showerhead is high quality. Water streams out in a good volume, like a rain shower. In the past I had to bust out the flow restrictors if I wanted a good water flow. Not so with this Raindance model, as you get a good flow of water. For those reviewers who have commented that the flow was weak, then their home water pressure must be low. I have a walk in shower and the other shower head on the opposite wall is more of a “jet” type and the pressure is very good. The builder of our home said because of local building codes, the water pressure setting on the home was limited and not even close to a high pressure. The installation was very easy, just unscrew the old head and screw on the Raindance. Bottom line, happy with the water flow, easy to install, and a quality piece.

Packaging wasn't premium like the price tag but most importantly this functions as advertised. The best thing about these rainfall shower heads is how game changing they are. Its a hard thing to believe that light raindrops would offer a better showing experience than a jet or stream crashing against your skin and head but trust me. The entire morning shower experience turns from humdrum chore to spa style relaxation. Some notes. Water coming out of this comes straight out as in there isn't a spray or cone. In my case my shower head is suspended from the center of the ceiling so I REALLY recommend getting the 12 inch size so coverage is shoulder to shoulder. I bought the 10 inch model and am currently processing a return to upgrade to 12 inches. The 10 inch wasn't insufficient or anything but its only a bit more money for the full/complete experience. In addition to that, some people will want high pressure showers so this is not a product to pick up for them and since the pressure isn't high, you really can't do "quick" showers with this thing unless you want leftover shampoo or soap crusting to your body and hair. All in all. If you are the kind of person shopping for this, its going to be awesome for you and your guests will praise how much they enjoy the experience. People who aren't interested should already know why.

AMAZING! Stop searching, buy this now! Let them take your money and love every shower you take!
If I could give this 10 stars, I would. Its amazing! Plain and simple. It does everything I wanted out of a rain shower head, period! I'm one of those guys who searches, reads reviews, searches some more, reads more reviews, goes to other sites, searches more, and reads more reviews. Bottom line is, I don't buy things unless I've read at least 30-50 reviews from people who own it, use it, and tell it like it is. I would list some cons if there were some, but I have found none. It has great coverage and it feels like you're standing in a downpour. I have this mounted in the ceiling directly over head with a 6" plumbing extention (Grohe 27 217 000 Rainshower 6-Inch Ceiling Shower Arm, StarLight Chrome). My house is new construction with high ceilings (9 ft). My wife hates rain shower heads so I had them install this one for me and then a conventional wall one for her. Although they have independent water controls they must share a water line because when I turn both on the water pressure is less, although I still get great flow from my rain shower head. Look with all that said, take it from a guy who is super picky, reads everything he can before he buys something, and I tell you, stop searching, buy this. Give them your money. You wont look back. As of writing this review, I've used it for 2 weeks. I'll update if anything changes. If you read this and the review is a year old, then assume nothing has changed and this thing is still making me feel like I'm taking showers in a luxury hotel somewhere exotic.

Not bad
Pretty good shower head. The silicone tips get clogged with build up pretty frequently, but otherwise, not bad. I expected a little more considering the price.

Good, but not great
I bought this showerhead hoping to upgrade the experience from my Delta RP50841 Rain Showerhead, but it just wasn't as satisfying and this one is 4-5 times the price Going from a 8" square to a 10" circle, the coverage was only marginally better, it's a tiny bit quieter, but there's a constant hiss from the air being sucked in the head It was still a pleasurable experience, but the drops didn't feel nearly as "full" more like a drizzle than a heavy summer rain

Only the lengthy delivery time, 5 weeks, prevents me from giving this five stars. It does all that it advertises, and more. (Not a cheap shower head but worth it.

It’s a fantastic shower head
Worth it! Make sure you get a long extension for mounting it. It’s a fantastic shower head. Easy to clean, solid, and looks and feels Lux. It mixes water with air, and that makes a noise that’s louder than other shower heads. But that’s minor, when you’re standing in your own private waterfall.

Excellent
Solid rain shower head, and nice looking.
