Caution. May not fit older doors

The quality of the part is good. Just FYI, The reach of this latch is much too short for my storm door. My storm door is probably 50 years old. But this latch definitely wont-work for me.

perfect replacement

When I received the latch, I was so happy it looked exactly like the one that was broken. When I first installed it, I didn't line up the open/close mechanism so I left it as it was. The next day, I went back out and tried again and was so happy to be successful. The holes lined up perfectly and the mechanism worked without any problem. It was a pleasure to throw out the broken latch that was being held together with tape and it cost me a fraction of what it would have otherwise. I highly recommend it. It saved me what could have been a fortune.

Solid, Good Latch w/ lock.

Bought it to replace an old one on my grandparents screen door. The original was from 30+ years ago. This new one fit and worked perfectly. It doesn’t come with any instructions or screws. It’s really, just a replacement piece that works well with a spring loaded strike bar.

Latch does not fit with measurments given

we received this product on time. it appears to be very sturdy, however there is no way that the holes match to fit our door. we measured from hole to hole as instructed and the measurement was 1inch plus 3/4 of an an inch. Way off. We tried to modify the door, and also the latch, with a drill. We made the hole bigger but still it would not fit. I read Steves review and his did not fit either. Since we have modified the latch we cannot return it, but I want other people know that this latch was not measured correctly from the manufacturer. Thank you. Did not fit

Ordered this to replace latch on my standard storm/screen door. This latch is sturdy, but did NOT fit the existing holes. The part that catches on the door was too short to reach. I would have had to move and redrill the existing holes on the door to make it fit. Again I have a standard storm door you would buy at any home depot or lowes. This did not fit.

Perfect fit fast delivery! If you have the exact one order it I'm 99% sure it will fit your door. But it did not come with screws but you definatly can use your old ones we did and they fit perfectly.
