Impossible to mount on Sheetrock walls.

It is a 12” wide shelf. The hanger holes are 8” apart. Studs are 16” apart. The instructions clearly say “screws must be screwed into studs. The keyhole mounts tear when you tighten the screws enough to keep the shelf secure. I can see no other reason to sell something like this except with the idea that most people won’t bother to ask for a refund and return it. I am doing both. Somebody somewhere should be ashamed for trying to sell this shelf. I have bought floating shelves from Amazon before and they came with sturdy hangers. This shelf could not be hung on a plywood substrate because even if you can get the screws tight enough to hold it, the thin MDF material is not strong enough to bear the weight of the shelf. Save your money.

Okay for the price

Not very sturdy nor well built, fine for inexpensive or lightweight items but nothing of value.

Absolutely Perfect

we needed a small shelf to set a replica of a Spanish galleon ship on our wall. This little shelf was absolutely perfect, and matched other shelves on our walls. Very happy with the purchase.

Use your own, better, hardware

These shelves came with black marks on one of them. It could have happened anywhere because there is no plastic over the cardboard so you can touch the shelves in the packaging. I tried to clean off the marks but couldn't get them to come off. No big deal because they will be up high so no one will actually see the marks on top. My husband is a carpenter so he knows how to handle things and he had an awful time getting these things up. First he used the supplied hardware but when the shelves were up they were not sturdy and could easily be shaken while on the wall without anything on them. He pulled out the little anchors and used twist and lock ones that hold much more weight. Once it was all said and done the shelves look great but it was a lot of work for something that should have been a simple job.

Flipped it around and now it's perfect! This won't hold real heavy things

It's cheap, but it gets the job done. It arrived with a small chip near one of the corners, but it's not real noticeable unless you're looking for it. I experienced a little bit of a sag (wasn't flush against the wall), but I had installed it wrong. Flipped it around and now it's perfect! This won't hold real heavy things, but feels solid with heavier knick knacks. I'm using it to store my dog's treats and medicine's. Maybe 3lbs or so on it. This thing will chip really easily on the screws if you mess up the installation.

Follow the directions and be careful, product works perfectly and I'm no handyman.

I don't know what all of the fuss was about. I got it first try and I am no carpenter. I just followed the directions and the thing worked exactly as promised. I have a candle on there and I sometimes put my bluetooth speaker (Amazon Tap) on there and it seems pretty sturdy. I think the trick is to A: mount the anchors in the dry wall correctly and B: follow the directions to tighten them just so, I did have to adjust the screws a couple of times but the total install time was still less than 10 minutes and it seems perfect. If it falls apart randomly I'll update my review.

Not a good product

I'm no stranger to hanging shelves but this one gave me nothing but problems. No metal keyhole brackets, just carved into the shelf itself. No strength to the hold. I had to buy decorative wall brackets to make it work. Looks good now but shouldn't have to purchase extra parts in order to use.
