The straight blades on this meat masher make crumbling taco meat more difficult.

Every week, our family prepares taco meat. I have a meat masher similar to this from another brand that we loved, but it is beginning to show signs of wear, so I ordered the KitchenAid Classic Meat Masher as a backup. If you've never used a meat masher like this before, you're going to love it. With a masher like this, it's much easier to separate your ground meat. We did notice a difference in design between this and the meat masher we already own. The curled blades on that one make it easy to push on the meat and then turn. This makes it easier to separate the meat. As the blades on this KitchenAid Classic Meat Masher are straight, this is a little more difficult to do. I hope the design will be updated as otherwise, this meat masher is well-made. The materials appears to be of high quality, and a meat masher like this is definitely a must-have in any kitchen.

Way nicer way of breaking up meats

This has made breaking up meats for dishes while cooking so much easier. I usually stick to using a wooden spoon or silicone spatula which can be tedious. This little fella can do a fantastically better job at breaking up ground meats. Super easy to clean, and while storage is a bit more due to its unique shape, I still love having it in my utensil drawer.

A good product with some tradeoffs

The KitchenAid Classic Meat Masher10.8-Inch does a good job, and has some trade-offs compared with our other masher from a different brand. Our other masher has five prongs and a more wavy pattern, versus the straight lines of the KitchenAid. The benefit of the KitchenAid versus the competitor is that the KitchenAid is far easier to clean, and always comes out of the dishwasher without residue. The opposite is true for the competitor. While having longer prongs, the KitchenAid does seem to overall have less surface area that comes in contact with the meat, so it takes more presses to get the same end result. The pricing is about the same. Less important, but nice in a tie, is that the KitchenAid looks far nicer. Overall, it's more of a preference decision. I like the KitchenAid.

Nice Utensil

Seems to be of good quality with noticeable weight for being mostly plastic. Much larger and more solid than other mashers. Pricey but still Recommended.
