Got A Lot Of Use, But Broken Spring Like Others

Overall, this is a great punch down tool. But like other reviews, the spring in mine broke as well. I at least got about a years worth of daily usage before the spring gave out in the middle of a punch. For the price, you would expect it last longer.

Punch down works

It doesn’t click like a normal punch down tool but great since I can’t find my other one and the cost is much less than a replacement ideal punch down. This might not be great for a big job but for one or two it’s awesome

Neat tool

This was a recommendation by my son, who installs cable. I was intent of doing a job for myself without hiring someone to do it. This was a great handy tool to punch down the CAT wires into a wall ate which I had ran thru the attic from a router to an area I needed a hard wire outlet plate to be. Female determination.

Well-made and mostly efficient tool

I bought this to install Cat6 and RJ11 Keystone jacks for our home network and a corded phone extension. It worked almost perfectly - just make sure that, when you're pushing down on the tool, you hold it at 90 degrees to the jack, otherwise it may either damage the small prongs in the jack or just not push the wire in properly. The integral wire cutter didn't always cut completely through the protruding wires, but they were easy to break off afterwards. It's a nicely-made tool (as usual for Klein), with a strong pouch to store it.

Quality spring

Bought it a couple weeks ago . After a few days of work the spring gets jam every 2 to 3 punches down the line, very disappointed

nice looking punch down tool that does not cut it!

I run a data installation company with 4 skilled data engineers our existing krone tools are getting worn out with constant use around 1,000 per day we perchased 1 of these tools, to try out, as they have a good reviews in the states. the tool duly arrived i gave it to the engineers, try this and tell me what you think, well to say that they were NOT happy is an understatement, comments not fit to post here !!!! I have also tried punching with the klien tool i agree with my engineers the unit punches the cat7/cat6/cat5 really well BUT it does not cut the ears of the cables after punching into the krone point i did sent an email to the uk stockist but after a long wait still have not had a reply we have tested the punch tool with variouse units but it still does not pass the test fluke have a simular unit and it has the same issues not cutting i hope my review shakes some trees and a responce from klien toolsis forth coming

Will not last even 5000 punch downs.

I purchased this to replace my cheaper quality punch down tool. This lasted 1 year and a half, and the spring broke on the inside and won't punch down. I purchased thinking thr klein punch down was better, my so call cheaper quality had out lasted this klein tool. What a huge disappointment, will buy a different more quality brand. Do not purchase.

Compression punch broke after only 8 months of use.

I'm in the cabling business - myself and my business partner both had this same tool and both failed almost at the same time due to the compression part of the tool breaking. The tool is only 8 months old. If it didn't break I would have likely given it 5 stars as it worked good up until now. I expected better from Klein Tools. Also the fact that another user and also my business partner had the same exact failure shows this is NOT a one-off defect, but an inherint defect with this punch tool. I have a back up that is not so nice on ergonomics, but it is over 10 years old and still working.
