Great product for guys hair

I use this all the time, hold my hair in place very well, keeps it out of my face. Last all day even when I sweat. Doesn’t make me feel all sticky either when I do sweat like other product. Doesn’t really have a scent which is ok with me. Easy to wash out of your hair too or rinse out. If you don’t mind the wet hair look this product is for you. I buy a bottle like every month and half for over a year now. No issue yet. Will continue to buy as long as the price doesn’t go up.

Best so Far

Still the best pomade I’ve found for my longer somewhat coarser hair. Good hold, moderate shine and water soluble for easy wash out.

Solid pick for shorter thick hair!

I used to use the old Redkin Water Wax 03. Couldn't find anything I liked as a replacement once they stopped making it, until I came across this. The top of my hair is about 1 1/2 inches. Just toss in a dime size amount and I'm good to go! This doesn't harden but it dries a little better than most Pomade. High hold and moderate shine which is exactly what I was looking for!

Edge Control

I have what most would consider type 4 hair texture and love laying my edges in cute lil’ swirl designs. I actually stumbled across this pomade on accident, working at an Amazon warehouse. It got on my hands during a clean up of some damages and when I felt how thick the product was, I immediately knew it could hold my edges well. I was so right! I didn’t take well to the hefty price tag but I took a chance. I’m never going back to edge control made specifically for women. I hope this doesn’t make it to TikTok or go viral for edge control because I love it too much to let it go. Plus it smells AMAZING!

Non greasy strong hold

Great product especially for short hair styles. Very lightweight non greasy formula that sets and holds your hair quickly and all day. Your hair will feel like it has gel in it where it dry and stiff to the touch. This is my go to for hair prep.

Good stuff

The amount of hair gels, creams and pomade I've been through has been a headache, not to mention heavy on the pocket just to try. However this is the one for me. If you're looking for a pomade that is easy to apply, not ultra sticky or ultra greasy this could be for you. I use it for slick back style. Mix a bit in palms, add to hair first application. Mix a little bit more add a tiny tiny bit of water to loosen (which I find seems to activate it more) Then comb with fingers or comb. Lasts for the day with good application and washes out easily with no residue.

Perfect for short think hair

I have been a user of the red DAX wax for many many years and have tried so many different hair products and have always gone back to DAX because it seems to be the best hold for my hair. But, I live in Dubai and during the summer months temperatures can reach 50c so DAX being a wax gets very soft in the heat. I tried using gels but because my hair has a slight curl to it the gel doesn't pull and hold my hair straight like DAX does. Another problem with DAX, being petroleum based they have recently changed the smell of it so its starting to smell like engine oil :-( So, I have hunted high and low for a water based product that stays firm in the heat, washes out easily and also one that smells great..... FINALLY... for me.. a product that does what it says on the tin!!!! This really is like putting wax in your hair, with the same hold as gel.... and washes out easily. My only tip is to make sure your hair is almost dry and it works better then (probably not getting watered down). I towel dry my hair and that seems to be enough. Will for sure be stocking up with this product!! FANTASTIC !!!

Highly Recommended

I have started to grow my hair during lockdown to try and achieve a nice man bun but as we all know we need to go through the ugly stage. I cut my hair in a way that I have an undercut comb over while growing my hair and needed something to hold my hair in place. I tried many regular products from supermarkets and they were bad. Tried John Frieda products and they were okay but still struggled with my hair. However, this product is superb. Holds my hair well and gives it a nice shine. The smell is also weird but pleasant? Something I haven't smelt before but smells so so nice. Will be stocking up on this product, highly recommend.

Original layrite is better

I have very thick hair and so tried this as a found I was having to use large amounts of the original layrite pomade to get the desired hold. I however find the hold worse as it is very difficult to apply evenly through my hair and it causes my hair to clump together. Applying more just causes bigger clumps. It also makes my hair feel much greasier then the original. Definitely not worth the high price.

People with very sensitive skin - Beware!

This is an excellent pomade but I had to give it 1 star because I had a very bad allergic reaction to this product. My skin is sensitive, particularly on my face. I used this product for a few days before I realised the effect that it was having on my skin. It started with my skin burning and very slightly puffy eyelids. It wasn't until the following day, when I woke up in the morning with majorly puffy eyes and red skin patches on my face that it was due to this pomade. This initial reaction started on the 8th of January 2022 and I am still dealing with puffy eyes in the morning and some irritation on my hands which I am using a steroid cream to try to control over 2 weeks after the initial reaction. I have had to throw lots of things away such as any combs and brushes etc. that have come into contact with the pomade as well as wash lots of clothes on a really high heat wash to ensure that any contact with traces of the pomade are eliminated. I just want anyone else out there with sensitive skin to be really careful with this, if you can do a patch test over the course of a few days before you apply it to your hair then please do! I don't want anyone else to be in this predicament!
