I absolutely love the look of these switches, and since I already own a lot of their lights, I really was looking forward to getting this switch. Unfortunately, when we received it, we realized that they do not sell other options such as we would need one switch to switch and force switch options however, they don’t make all of those sizes, we want to be able to have everything look uniform so it was a bit of a disappointment. I never got to try the switches or install them because I return them right away. I wish they would sell all options.

Beautiful Product for a Bespoke Home

This LifX switch is the easiest to wire out of all their product line (USA). I now have three of these in my house along with more than 10 of the 2 button switches and 90+ Lifx Bulbs. The four button switch looks so nice in the single gang boxes that we have in the house. The firmware continues to expand in functionality; where in the past button color could not be adjusted, you can now choose from a variety of colors. Also, buttons are now "virtually wired" to the light they control so just because the load is connected to button 1 on the back, you can program the button faces to 4 to switch that light on. As someone who has advanced networking skills and has invested significantly in my home WiFi coverage, I have achieved near 100% reliability with LifX products. Contrary to a lot of reviews which paint LifX in a negative light, their products continue to improve in reliability and ease of setup. I always recommend LifX because of the color clarity and the fact that you don't need a hub. If you have good WiFi, you won't have a problem.

Works great if…

The switch works great once it is installed. But, since it requires a neutral wire it cannot replace many wall switches (which only have access to a power & ground wires). I had to buy an electric box and install it with the switch attached into a wooden box. Then, with a 3 wire extension cord plug it into a wall outlet. That way it can only control LIFX lights - but that’s what I needed.
