A spare bio wheel for my Marineland Eclipse 3 system
I really like my old Eclipse 3 In-hood filter setup. Although it’s 15 years old, I decided to refurbish rather than switch to another filtration system. However, Eclipse systems have been out production for many years, and spare parts are getting harder to find. Glad I found this genuine Marineland replacement bio-wheel. It fits my Eclipse 3 perfectly. It’s a spare unit right now, as the one I have now is running fine.

Does it actually work?
This item does not need to be replaced, but I bought it as a replacement since the old one came secondhand. However, I've since read various articles about hos these bio wheels don't actually work. While the idea is good, the product itself often fails to provide a good home for beneficial bacteria due to such a small surface area being exposed. I don't really understand it completely, but I have no major problems with it spinning away in my tank hood.

good product, hideous shipping
The item is what it is. It works. Shipping was terrible. Who ships a soft corrigated fiber/paper cylindrical filter in a soft envelope? It arrived crushed and seperated from the end caps, but these things are so rare I opted to reassemble it best I could and make due, rather than try to find one someplace else.

Bio wheel assy.
I have learned the hard way that if you let one of these dry out, they will never work right again. I have spent days trying to adjust the water so a dried out wheel will turn properly.. As with everything Marineland makes, these are top quality, and within a couple of hours of starting the water to run over them, they were sync's and turning just perfect.

Been using for years
Great product but gets smushed easily if packed with other items when shipping. Also the filter slips off the nubs that hold the accordion folds in place if the end caps are not firmly pressed down.

The BIOWHEEL was fine
The BIO wheel was fine now that I finally recieved it. The company that it came from, UNITED PET GROUP has horrible customer service. I have a 100 Gallon tank and no one locally in my town sells these, so I needed it quickly. They sent it to an old address. Anyway, glad BIOWHEEL
