It’s helped

So nice I bought it twice
This thing helped me run again after I tore a knee ligament. Rested for two months first, of course, and then slowly worked back up to jogs while wearing this thing. It provides just the right amount of support. I have used it two or three times a week for months and it works just as well as the day I bought it. Has not stretched out or pilled up where the velcro attaches. I even recently bought a second one for the other knee, and had a fantastic run yesterday. The first couple of times I put it on, I would pull on the wrong part of the strap to get it off - I kept pulling on the trimmed edge, instead of the low profile velcro. Not exactly a design flaw, but worth noting. When we went into full COVID19 lockdown in March 2020, I would deal with the stress by running (everything else was closed!). I didn't realize that I jumped from running 9 miles a week to 20+ until two weeks later my left knee popped midrun. I hobbled home, & learned I wouldn't be able to run for months. When I was finally healed enough to try jogging again, the PT told me use one of these. What a miracle worker! I still use it now, months later, and when the other knee started to feel "crunchy" during some lunges the other day, I decided to just run with on each knee from now on, and ordered a second one. Used them both yesterday and couldn't have told you which was the "new" one. Equal support from both.

Sizing is wrong
Everything I read said up to 21" but the Large that was delivered to me shows up to 18.5". Seems to be sturdy and well made, but cant confirm.

I found the strap to give some support. It was comfortable sitting under the patella, but where the strap attaches did rub the skin behind my knee.

Great for knee support and pain relief
This knee band works. I've tried other knee bands that were not as effective and were returned. I was suffering from knee pain while walking, climbing stairs, etc. The band provides the right amount of pressure on the tendon and stays in place. The band consists of a rubber tube that is placed on the tendon. I have muscular legs (15 1/2) and the large fit perfectly. With exercises and wearing the band, I quickly had pain relief and mobility once again.

Scratchy velcro
If you have very skinny knee then it’s a great product. If not, then it’s a very unfortunate design. When it’s extended for larger fit (not super size, just normal adult legs), the velcro’s scratchy side is towards the skin and it’s unbearable to wear (mauling the soft skin on the inside of the knee). Most other reviewers who gave good rating noted that their kids’ are using it and I would agree with that - it’s more a junior fit than grown up adults because of the velcro. Otherwise it’s good quality material and construction.

So simple yet so effective
The nature of my work means i spend at least 12 to 15 hours a day standing on my feet and at least a quarter of that time is running up and down flights of stairs. I recently developed a pinching sensation just below my right knee cap every time i put my weight on the leg which was not in a straight limb manner, making the stairs an uncomofortable part of my day. After looking up a few dozen articles i realized i was developing patella tendonitis and looked for a solution. I could not believe the relief i was looking for would come in such a simple form. TBH i chose The McDavids product based solely on budget reasons as i did not want to lay out too much on trialing such an item (some being 3 or 4 times the price). The quality of the manufacturing seems quite high, with both the feel and ease of use to be excellent as well. Cleaning is a simple matter and does not damage the item as i thought it may. The end result now is i feel better when wearing this during my working days and have noticed a major reduction in discomfort AND and increase in strength when not wearing it.

Comfortable. Seems to be helping.
So far, so good. I haven't used it too much yet, but I'll even use it around the house if I'm experiencing knee pain. I think it has helped a lot with the most recent pain. I would feel comfortable attempting a run with this.

A fabulous piece of kit !
I have played football to a good level for over 40 yrs and for the past few years have suffered from tendonitis of the patella ligament. I was not keen to become addicted to anti-inflammatory medication and there's only so many times the ice pack can come out. The Jumper's knee strap was recommended to me and having used it now for a couple of months I have noticed a huge improvement in my knee. To avoid getting 'addicted' to using the strap, I tend to use it only when actually training (running or working out). I have found it best to wear nice and tight and it surprised me how the knee was not so aggravated or painful after exercise. All in all, a super little piece of kit !
