A quality frame for the price, but it's not perfect ...
This is a nice, sturdy frame with archival characteristics that do not exist among competitors' products within this price range. I can only recommend it, for its quality materials and construction alone. Please note that it is somewhat heavy for its size, so there must be adequate support for hanging it on the wall. Also, for those who are confused by the critical reviews which involve the frame's "inconsistent" or "wrong" sizing: All standard-size (non-custom) frame manufacturers should inform their customers of how to correctly assess their needs, but they don't. Frames have a "rabbet" measurement, which is basically the amount of lip or overhang that keeps the artwork/mat/glass held inside of the frame ... this rabbet measurement must be accounted for since it reduces the viewing area by that amount. This frame, for example, has a 0.49" rabbet, which reduces the visible portion of the artwork by nearly 1/2" ... so, if the matted opening is listed as 8"x10", only 7-1/2"x9-1/2" of the artwork can be seen because the frame's rabbet that the mat rests upon obstructs it. If an important part of the art is not viewable and the frame has already been purchased, one can inexpensively have a new acid-free mat cut to accommodate the rabbet and retain a true 8"x10" opening instead of returning the frame ... the overall purchase would still be a great deal given the quality. If the art has not yet been purchased but the frame has, one may want to inquire whether the art can be "shrunk" to the viewable size ahead of its printing. Of course, one could also abandon the mat, and mount a 10-1/2"x13-1/2" art piece instead. With all of this said, I agree with other reviewers about the unnecessary stupidity of having to remove 8 industrial staples from the back of the frame. The frame was exceptionally packaged, but the protective corners could have been placed successfully over the frame without actually having been affixed to the frame itself. There's a long, superficial scratch across the frame's backing as well as the remnant holes from the staples (which are VERY DIFFICULT to fully remove) plus a blemish due to removal of the sticker, but no one will see these imperfections unless they remove the frame from the wall. As a perfectionist, this is incredibly hard for me to say; but the fact that I am saying it says A LOT too. It's imported, and there are some minor flaws to its reverse ... but I'm satisfied with it and would not hesitate to make the purchase again. I do hope, however, that MCS will take note of the reviewers' issues and improve their product accordingly.

Industrial-size staples
The frame is attractive and sturdy. I hope the glass is actually uv protective as it claims. However, the cardboard corner protectors meant to protect the frame during shipping are attached to the frame with 8 industrial size staples. You could leave them in the frame after removing the cardboard, but they stick out. I chose to pull them out with pliers, but now there are 16 holes on the back of the frame. Once it’s on the wall it will look beautiful, but as this is a gift for my best friend, I’m disappointed it isn’t “perfect.”

Makes your pictures look great
Makes your pictures or autographs look more professional and greatly displayed. Worth the price for the quality and care they take on delivery. Be careful that the loose glass doesn’t fall as the display glass is not affixed other than that worth every penny this is my second pair.

Not UV glass
The frame itself looks nice but there are several problems: 1) Cardboard is stapled to the back of the frame, which was annoying. 2) The mat opening is 7x9 inches, not 8x10. 3) But more importantly, this is not UV blocking glass. To test this, you can put a $10+ bill behind it. UV glass will prevent the bill’s security strip from fluorescing. You can see in my picture that the strips glow regardless of if they are behind the frame glass or not. In comparison, my UV blocking glasses at the top left completely block UV light, preventing the strip from fluorescing. Sadly this is just plain old glass. It makes me think it’s probably not acid free materials either (though I haven’t tested this).

too bad these are such an investment
these are a bit prioey, so if you don't feel you absolutely need em, don't bother. i hang up vintage sheet music (30s and 40s), want them up for the next 50 years. so decided on archival frames. bought 3 last year. they don't look fantastic but they do the job (so far). no issues. bought another frame recently and they used heavy staples to attach cardboard corners (for packing). even with pliers, was a long struggle getting them out, damaged the spots (there are 8), and then two broke off (making a sharp points, which are too small to yank out, but will scratch your wall. think they used a glue gun before. why the switch? it's not often folks will need these frames, but great that they are available. hope other places start making em (for much cheaper!).

Great frame but mat is not cut to 8x10
I bought this frame for a watercolor piece that had been done which was 8 x 10. I liked the UV glass and the nice quality edge of the frame. But the mat is cut wrong. It is not big enough for an 8 x 10. You will need to either buy a new mat or cut this one a little bigger

Not true to size
The frame is not cut to size. I had to return it because it’s not a true 8x10
