Great Septic Treatment

I’ve used this since 2006. It’s reasonably priced and I only have to use it twice a year. It’s cheaper priced than other treatments and you don’t have to use it monthly. I haven’t had an issue with my septic system in all these years.

Works as advertised

I've been using Microbe-Lift every six months in our cesspool for 25 years now and have never had a problem with our system. Yes, it smells like rotten eggs when you open the cap and pour it down the toilet, but the odor dissipates quickly if you open a window, and is a small price to pay for a product that does its job preventing bigger, costlier and smellier problems!

Stopped the smell and no more standing water

Started seeing effluent on the surface near the riser and manhole cover. Limited flushes (only the toilet goes into septic, only septic TP and only human waste goes in), requested our young boys pee outside and poured every septic product into potty. Nothing helped and there was always water leaking out. An EPA nightmare. Knew we had failed lines as they were put in by my husband's dad in 1977 (hubby remembers his dad digging the trenches and laying the lateral lines which are terra cotta and the holding tank is made of asphault). Very old system! I met the hubby and moved in to the old home in 2005. Didn't know we had septic until 2014 (when it was pumped and septic guy said, "I'm shocked you haven't had more problems"). That was the beginning of our troubles. Conducted a ton of research (I now know so much about septic tanks, I feel that I have a backup career) and came across this product. Reviews on Amazon were stellar. Ordered 2 containers and poured them in. Oh man, does this stuff stink! Per the directions, pour 2 batches in and then follow up with 2 more the next week then 1 every other week for 4 weeks. I'm on application #3. Will be putting another treatment in this weekend. I plan on adding more than recommended because I know I have an old system and it needs help. Since starting the treatment, there has been no surfacing effluent, the smell around the manhole cover is gone and the dirt that used to be consistently wet is drying. I don't feel comfortable yet to resume flushing after just tinkle. Hoping that time and more treatments will get me to that spot. For now, this will be the only septic product I purchase. Would highly recommend to anyone who has a healthy or failing septic. $15.00/ dose is a small investment for your precious septic. ******************************************Update 10-4-2016************************************ Still no sign of surface effluent or stink. If it weren't for the rain, would be bone dry. So very happy with this product! Adding 2 more containers this weekend to keep the good bacteria going.

THIS WORKS - BUT SMELL IS HORRIBLE!

Having septic is the worst - but this product was recommended by our plumber. Smells to high heavens, but works with the enzymes to eat up the septic system gunk. Saves the septic!

This product works

We have been using Microbe-Lift for 20 years and have never had a problem with our septic tank or field. We do use the kitchen disposal regularly so food items also go into the tank and this has never been a problem either. We love the fact that you only have to use this every six months unlike so many other products. I gave the Scent category a 4 star only because when you open the bottle the smell is really bad but it goes away quickly (within minutes) once the product is flushed down the toilet. We will never switch to another product for our septic.

Make sure you use this outside in the septic tank

Product works, smells bad but it works to break up soap and grease. I highly recommend this product! This is not a snake Oil Fix all, if your septic tank is a slow drain u have a 50/50 chance that this will work for U. Do not pour this in your toilet it will smell up the house, Good luck. No pictures sorry, u get the idea

Yellowstone in my bathroom

A septic expert once told me about this stuff. He said it smells horrible but the worse it smells the better. Well this stuff definitely lives up to that. As of now I'm giving it 5 stars because it's been a month and I haven't experienced any negative issues but my drains were starting to smell before I used the treatment which usually means it isn't breaking down properly but the smells are gone now. Just use this before you leave the house or something and open all windows in the bathroom and the fan and you'll survive.
