Warning - Does Not Come With Shower Valve Stop Tube
Overall, this is a decent replacement set for the Moen single action handle that controls both volume and temperature. The main **problem** is the kit fails to include the Shower Valve Stop Tube. The reason this is essential is because the Stop Tube goes between the shower volume/temperature handle and the escutcheon. In other words, you must have this part. So..........while installing this kit, I had to stop what I was installing, visit two hardware stores, and look extensively for this "one part" (Shower Valve Stop Tube), and it costs $7.89 (each). I needed two because I purchased two tub/shower kits. Moen should include this part in the kit. It's ridiculous to leave it out! So 3 Stars for that issue. Otherwise, it's a decent kit, and yes, the tub spout is "plastic"! I noticed other reviews mentioned this. I don't really mind the plastic spout because I figure, I will be replacing this kit again when the hard water in my region destroys it......The vicious cycle. *************UPDATE BELOW: October 11, 2018 ************** I switched out the plastic tub spout with a metal one (also a Moen product). I had an issue with one of the plastic spouts not functioning properly at the "O" Ring and Set Screw region, which caused a leak out the backside. I wasn't okay with the leak issue so I went ahead and purchased a better quality spout. I will say, even with the added expense(s), the rest of this kit is fine. I mean, if you parted or sourced the cost for each individual piece, it would still cost more than what I paid for this chrome set. Plus, the shower head offers nice consistent water flow with good water pressure, and the single action handle is working well. If this changes, I will update this review accordingly. For now, I will leave it at 3 Stars because it is "possible" my 20 year-old copper pipe had a role in the "O" Ring and Set Screw issue. The condition of the piping is critical to fit, not to mention, cleaning, and lubricating for the slip-on piece. Ugh.......plumbing! It's great when everything works, and a nightmare when it doesn't!

This is a discontinued Moen Product
This is a very nice Trim Kit for the shower, but when I had a plumber come to install it, it needed a valve and a cartridge. The plumber contacted Moen and this set, plus parts are all discontinued items. Yes, Amazon does sell some of these parts, but the problem is unless you are a licensed plumber, you do not know what the correct additional parts numbers may be or if they are available.

this is just cosmetic it should have at least the replacement cartridge
the cost , if a replacement cartridge was included that would save me a trip to home depot . the cartridge is free so why not include it in the kit
