Solid latch

I had an issue with my new gate expanding and contracting with the weather extremes this year. My old latch arm was too short and the gate would not close properly. I also have a gate spring to ensure my dogs won't get out. Unfortunately, this puts a lot of pressure on the arm held on with only 2 short screws. This gate latch solved both of these problems. The latch arm is long enough to accommodate the most extreme expansions. The bracket plate secures the arm to the fence with 4 screws and allows the arm to adjust to the latch. Great product.

Flimsy

The latch felt very flimsy and would probably only work on a very light gate. The overall length of the bar is about 5.5 inches. This means the length protruding past the gate only is around 2.75". I returned it for the 8" model which is much more heavy duty and can span a much larger gate opening.

The sliding bar is a better latching system and also works great for gates that, as they age, sink out of alignment.

A good latch for the money

My only issue with this product is that the screws they included are too short, so the latch comes loose and falls off. Use your own screws (that are longer than what they included) and its a great product. The metal is solid and good quality.

That this isn't a product from Stanley but it's a good latch and my gate shuts with ease now

It's a good product it moves up and down but it's easy to install and you won't miss out on a price like this if they increase the price then yeah they will lose customers

This gate latch works every time! Easy to install too!

This is the best gate latch I have ever installed! We have a self closing spring on the gate and this latch system works every single time! The latch arm is not tightly secured so it floats a little up and down within a bracket...it’s self adjusting so doesn’t stick and the closing latch comes down over the arm each time! What a concept!! Love this Latch!!

Latch clip is starting to rust, after 4 weeks.

What do I do when the latch clip is starting to rust? Purchased 4 weeks ago. Only 1 month return policy. Works great though. Not sure if I would purchase again.
