Sturdy, Well-Designed Positive Grip Paracord Clamps

We purchased a bunch of these Nite Ize 'figure 9' and 'cam jam' paracord clamps to secure stage props. Our current method to secure the stage props require too much time on tall stage ladders, so ease of use, positive grip, sturdiness and cost were primary drivers in choosing both Nite Ize 'figure 9' & 'cam jam' paracord clamps. Carabiners and serrated teeth friction grip were 'must haves'. We did compromise on durability of the 'cam jam' clamps by choosing the plastic vs aluminum version due to cost -- hope we don't regret that decision. First use is months away, so we bench-tested the clamps. Both 'cam jam' and 'figure 9' clamps gripped the paracords very well. The 'figure 9' clamps were not as simple to use compared to the 'cam jam' clamps, especially in making adjustments with the rope in tension, but appear to be more sturdy (aluminum, no moving parts) and accommodate larger paracords (9 mm vs 5 mm), so these clamps will be used to secure heavier stage props.

Perfect for setting up tarp shelter. Quick and easy tensioner.

I use these for tarp rigging when we go camping. I now own several of these as I've found them invaluable and a dream to use. Originally purchased only one at a local store when I was picking up some para-cord. I saw this next to some other tensioners and gave it a look. It came with a little instructional diagram that was part of the packaging displaying thee options to utilize the Figure 9. After thinking about how I wanted to rig up my ridge line for the tarp shelter, I decided I could use this to save some time and spent the $5 on it. The original set-up with this was a breeze and with one end of my ridge line tied to a tree utilizing a bow-line knot and looping the other around an adjacent tree and tensioning utilizing the figure 9, we had a very "ridgid" ridge line within minutes...utilizing only one knot. The Figure 9 held through 2 nights of rain and kept us dry. Take down was even simpler as all you have to do us release the line from the teeth. (FYI, we ran the tarp over the ridge line and secured it to the ridge line with a couple of prusik knots attached to the tarp...prusik knots are your friend.) I now own several Figure 9's both in the large and small. I have to say, the best thing about the Figure 9 is that you don't have to know how to tie knots, especially knots that you can keep tension on. These have allowed me to set-up many tarp shelters, quick and easy. We haven't used them to secure anything else but I can see a myriad of uses.

Just what the Dr. ordered

I am horrible when it comes to tieing various knots. I needed to be able to pull a rope tight and lock it in place. This did the trick perfectly. And, as easy as it is to engage, it's just as easy to release.

Great Fathers Day Gift

My hubby loves these rope tighteners. He stows them away in his truck like a prized possession. Giving you a fair warning. ANY time he has let someone borrow one, they don't get returned. We use them to tie items down in our truck bed.

Great for hammock camping

Despite being a scouting leader, I am not the greatest knot tier, so this is a great tool to tie up rope without a big knotted mess at clean-up time! I wanted this to help string up the ridgeline on my hammock setup (to ensure the hammock sags properly and allows me to hang a light and an organizer up). I can clip the large end to my suspension system, and then wrap the Lash-It cord around the bottom section. Holds tight and does not come undone until I want it undone. Easy to undo when that time comes. Super lightweight tool so I don't notice in my pack. Highly recommend to all the knot challenged folks out there!

Superior to the non-carabiner figure 9's.

First off, the carabiner design of these increases the functionality and ease of use quite a bit compared to the standard figure 9's that are a closed loop head. I had a couple of both with me in Scotland for the month I was wandering around there and I eventually stopped using the closed heads entirely. These clips held their place even in the very strong winds of Iona of the SW end of Isle of Mull. As another reviewer mentioned, some of them can benefit from some minor deburring on the edges of the teeth. I did this before leaving for Scotland and did not notice any problems with my lines fraying. The large ones were quite frankly larger and heavier than I needed, but one would certainly not need to worry about these being durable. They feel like they're made from cast aluminum but I have not done a magnet test. Regardless, I never saw the head flex despite the carabiner design. Another great item to have in your camping kit.

Awesome accessory for tightening ropes

Tried it on the rain tarp over my tent during rainy weather. Worked awesome with different size Paracord ropes, very easy application, tightening, re-tightening and removal. Highly recommend this product!!!

I need to start with the fact that I havent used it yet, that said it looks solid and well made but I can't say how good it is at holding the rope/cord tight and for how long, it did arrive on time and in good condition so a good seller.

Excellent for doing things you'd use a figure 9 carabiner for

I was looking for a device which would hook over something and allow the attachment of a rope or cable, and this little unit didn't disappoint. Decent lightweight material, excellent gripping ability. Time will tell over its durability but for now colour me impressed.
