Great Backpack. so many departments, just have to get acquainted where you pack all your belonging.

The. only thing I did not care for was the cord for the zippers.. have to be careful not to get the material stuck. I would love to have a replacement for the zipper cord?? Something more durable than cord?? Otherwise we love them!!

Great backpack but uncomfortable on shoulders

I used this backpack to travel to Egypt for 10 days. It was extremely durable and fit fantastically in the overhead bin on the plane. The only downside was that the shoulder straps were definitely not comfortable when pack was fully packed. Would recommend for carryon travel but be aware of the comfort level.

I loved the various storage compartment s. I wish if it had one for shoes and greater main storage space.It's Abit cumbersome opening the main compartment. Otherwise, it's a great product but too pricy for the disadvantages mentioned earlier.

Osprey Porter 46 Travel Backpack

Not a bad purchase, but there are better backpacks

Pros: * Built quality seems good * Has decent amount of packing space * Main compartment side pockets very useful for smaller items * Compression straps do help to slim down a full backpack * Laptop pocket very convenient and secure * Can attach and secure an Osprey daypack in front for easy carry Cons: * It’s get too bulky when fully packed out * Two front compartments not very useful when backpack is full * Toiletry pocket eats into the main compartment, so it’s basically useless * No external pockets for quick access items or water bottle * Shoulder straps are not comfortable at all. * Material seems to attract lint and dust. Given the choice, I probably would not buy again, but I wouldn’t say I regret the purchase. I also have the Peak Design 45L backpack, same stated storage capacity, but it seems to hold the same amount of stuff at only 35L mode, and it’s less bulky, everything is also easier to access. Although, the Osprey Porter 46 is 1/2 the price of the Peak Design backpack. Update: I discovered a defect with the backpack, so emailed Osprey with an inquiry. Since my backpack was still within the return window with Amazon, I decided to get a replacement. Osprey says they respond to emails within 3-5 days, that’s actually ridiculously long. My replacement backpack arrived in 4 days, today is the 6th day since my email, I still haven’t received a response from Osprey. They have the all mighty guarantee for life, their website says the turnaround time for warranty work is 5-7 weeks. I feel their response time is too slow, and warranty work takes too long. It doesn’t strike confidence in the all mighty guaranty in the event that I actually need it.

Great backpack for travel

I have always heard that it is best to NOT have a rolling suitcase in Europe due to limited smooth paths (lots of cobblestone) and small elevators IF you have a building with an elevator at all. This backpack made a huge difference and I packed less for sure. Several travel blogs suggested this bag and I can see why. Simple travel so you spend more time worrying about seeing everything vs what you are wearing. We loved it so much we bought one for our son for Christmas and he loves it too. Comfortable and packs a LOT. Also, works well with overhead bins in the airplanes, bonus!

Good as a carry-on, so-so as a walking unit.

Good versatility, lots of packing options, roomy laptop bin, nice secure upper pocket for my camera, protected my stuff in carry-on mode. When fully loaded (10+ kilos) the straps weren't very good, maybe too narrow and not comfortable after 20 or 30 minutes. Almost right, I'll still use it.

Have traveled all over with this bag…it is the biggest bag that you can take on as carry on.
