I've used these twice, and I like them. They permit me to hear if I'm in conversation with someone, but do a good job of blocking out the harmful sounds. In addition, I find that ear muffs leak a little due to my glasses. I don't have that problem with these ear plugs. My only problem so far is that the ear plugs seem to become loose after about 30-45 minutes. At that point I feel the need to readjust them regularly. Perhaps I need to mold them better. A very small additional gripe is that the lid to the carrying container does not snap on snugly. So sometimes my plugs spill out. The container is designed to hold them in place, but it doesn't lock them in 100 percent. Otherwise, I recommend these ear plugs, especially if you're looking for something decent on a budget.

Molding the ear pieces worked well. They just don't work

Give them a try, very convenient!

I was VERY skeptical of this product. However, I’ve been wanting to give these a try and thought the price was worth it. After going through the molding and fitting process, I was not sold and actually ‘re-fit’ my right ear multiple times trying to get a good seal (Note, I definitely recommend molding these one at a time). After molding them, I threw them in my range bag and forgot about them for a little while. Well, this last weekend I found myself at an indoor range alone, so I pulled off the ear protection I had been using and put these on. I fired off a couple single rounds figuring I could always switch back to other ear protection, if needed. Well, as I mentioned above, I was very pleasantly surprised. They worked as advertised, and were very comfortable to wear. Fired rounds were a little louder than the usual plugs I wear, but these are only rated to 21db as opposed to 28db for the others, so that’s expected. All in all, they offered plenty of protection and will be the set I now use at both the indoor and outdoor range. I also figure if I’m firing a particularly loud rifle, they will offer great secondary protection. Best of all, if they become ‘loose’ or the seal isn’t as tight as it should be, I can always re-mold them. tl;dr: I would absolutely recommend these.
