Cute
Wanted to try out a pedagogic game, though I'm neither a kid nor entirely new to coding. This game is cute and fun. From the perspective of adult gamers, it would've been nice to have more cards that allow you to gain potatoes in order to stay in the game longer, because there are not many. By contrast, someone can take out your potatoes real quick. But I suppose they were going for a quicker game, so in that case it would make sense. Children's attention spans are not as long. May give this to a friend with kids in future. When their kids are a little older.

Great Learning Game!
Bought this game for my sons 8th birthday. He's got an independent 4H project coming up this summer that will involved learning some programming using Scratch. I figured getting him started with some basic coding logic would really help him. Myself, my 11 yr old daughter and him played this and the 1st time out everyone enjoyed it. Being a software developer, I loved being able to explain the different symbols and concepts on the cards as we went. This game involves For loops, while loops, If/Else statements, and even the idea of using your ship to attack in certain order to maximize the damage your potato smashing attacks do! There are even Switch statement cards that my son was able to use multiple times and then when getting his 4th ship he suddenly realized he couldn't continue to use! So he waited until he lost a ship... and out came that switch statement again! Was a great time, and after our first game everyone was ready to play it again!

My family loves this game!
My family loves this game, and we would definitely recommend it! My kids are ages 5-10 years old. The youngest needed a lot of help, but the older kids got the jist of it pretty easily. I'm not sure about durability since we only played it a couple times, but none of my kids broke the pieces if that helps. I think this would make a fun, educational, and reasonably priced gift for a child that likes board games.

Ok game so far, damaged box
The the game’s pretty fun to play with my kid. Still exploring it. Dinged one star for the shipping. Somewhere from the warehouse to the UPS delivery, the box got stabbed on a sharp corner. The shipping bag was fine, the shrink wrap was fine, but the bottom of the cardboard box had a huge rip in it. Luckily the contents were mostly find except for a few dented cards.

Fun, but not intuitive and the directions aren't clear enough
Enjoyed this several times with the family, but the instructions aren't clear enough for setup and causes a huge learning curve. Quite fun once we got it going.

Great game for families
This game can be as complicated or as simple as your family needs it to be. Our seven year old daughter who "hates" math was quickly immersed in applying mathematical strategies and concepts and totally enjoyed herself. The game can be enjoyed and mastered on any level because it is so flexible; the strategies can become as advanced as the players want them to be so that kids can play as successfully as adults. A target skill-level for children is basic addition with a basic understanding of comparisons (greater than/ less than/ equal to). But adults can enjoy a wild cut-throat pirate adventure as well!

Not what I expected....
It was a fun game for a few times of play. Keep in mind I'm a software engineer and wanted to get my family and friends into programming a bit. This wasn't exactly teaching them programming. It was quite simple for everyone to bypass the terminology of programming in the game for its simplicity. Also due to the nature of the game there is no way for come from behind victories. It's very easy to see what others are plotting and to gang up on individuals. I think they just added programming terms for the advertising to sell the game. Overall good visuals, fun name, but subpar gameplay and no programming taught.

So much fun they won't even realize they are learning!
My 7 and 8 yearolds love playing this game. It has allowed them to pick up some basic coding concepts without even realizing they are learning. The game requires at least 3 players, but that hasn't been a problem as it is a game that is fun and challenging for both adults and children. My kids loved all the little potato related details like the hilarious ship names and the actions of mashing and frying opponents' potatoes. Well worth the investment as it will be fun for years to come.

Buen juego!!!
Te enseña solo las bases de los bucles y estructuras de programación (FOR, WHILE, IF-THEN, ELSE y anidación de estos). No es complicado aprender, las instrucciones son sencillas y el juego es entrenido.

Great learning fun
My 6 yo son enjoyed it although we had to spend a lot of time to explain it to him. “It’s A Great way to expose young kids to coding.

Fun learning
I bought 5 of this game to use at school, helping kids to understand coding in a simple and fun way. It took a few lessons to get the kids up to speed, but they got the hang of it pretty quickly. They are understanding conditions and loops better now.
