Works as advertised!

I've been using these filters for about 7 years now and they do the job! I have a Big Blue connected before my water passes through my water softener. This setup saves my resin from getting too dirty from rust and all that junk and dirt. Make sure you change your filter accordingly or your water pressure will drop in your home (based from experience).

1st step

Thia filter is fantastic. It starts at 50 micron and closer to the center narrows to 5 or 1 micron depending on the version. It has to be flushed for 10 minutes post installation. But you can actually see the particulate size in your water depending on where the dark rings are when looking at the filter on its access. This cannot be cleaned since it's catching different particulates within the matrix bases in their sizes. If you need to clean the outside, you need a larger filter (100 or 75 micron) before this one. It's all about a series of filters stepping down micron filtration and keeping the more expensive carbon /other media downstream so you can prolong their lives. When people ask how long they last, that depends on how much water you are filtering and how much crap is in your water. This is the best particulate filter type. Pleated filters only do one size.the beauty of this one is that you get 50 down to 5 in one unit. I replace these every few months in my home filter system. I use the 50 down to 5 since the 1 micron becomes too restricted too fast.

These filters work well at removing a lot of the sediment and particulates that are in my well water. I get about 5 to 6 months out of them before they need changing. I think that the price has gone up quite a bit since the pandemic. These filters are made in China.

Great Long Lasting Filter

These dual media filters are incredible. I have a 3 stage system that is fed from lake water. This filter is my first stage, then I go down to 5 micron, then carbon, then UV. Compared to a standard 20 micron filter, I would say this one lasts about 3x as long before becoming plugged. If your water is rich in sediment or tannin, and your filters are plugging up fairly quickly, this may be a good option. You will still need something finer before UV, but its a great initial step.

Excellent product. Highly recommended.

These are very good filters, and the dual gradient layers work great. The pictures show a filter after 3 months of use. I sliced it up to see how effective the interior layer is, and it clearly works as described. Previously, we tried two other filters offered by other vendors. The Pentek filters from Amazon are much better. Thanks Amazon and Pentek!

No pressure loss

We purchased a iSpring system and the filters it came with clogged and we lost all pressure after just days. I’ve been running these new filters for 3 weeks and noticed 0 drop in pressure. And yes, I checked to make sure they were collecting sediment. Great purchase!
