Works well but expensive
Easy install and works well but is very expensive.

Good product, shoddy packaging
I’ve used this product for years buying it from the local water treatment center. I like the filter so I decided to subscribe from Amazon on a three month cycle. The filter arrived with ends loose and unattached to the point that I had to mend it myself. I’m hoping this is an aberration.

Love the filter (BAD PACKING)
Filter is great but the packing is horrible. It weights 3 pounds and is almost never packed properly. It arrives with broken blue plastic, or it breaks other items its packed with. Numerous complaints but Amazon just cant seem to understand the weight. Most filters are light so maybe that confuses them.

They just work. And they last at least 12 months for my cold kitchen water.
It’s a filter. I change them every 12 months. They do a good job with our drinking water.

Works great but short life on my well and expensive!
Functionally these filters are great. My only complaint is that if run as a standalone filter it burns out fairly quickly on my well (works really well for 2 weeks and struggles after 4-6 weeks). I've since updated my filter setup to contain two 20" pre-filters prior to the carbon block which seems to have helped extend the life - however I still see pressure drop when hitting this filter, typically 5-10 psi below the pressure tank. Only really an issue when pushing multiple fixtures. In terms of water quality I can attest that this cleans it up well - My well tested positive for PFAS but when running these filters the levels are undetectable. One side note to be aware of is that carbon filters collect radiation - I am in the granite state and we tend to have radon in the water, I don't have very high levels but leaving this filter in place for extended periods of time does render it mildly radioactive.

Combines both a sediment and an active carbon filter in one unit.
Works great. Get the filter housing with a drain or you will have to remove it with a lot of heavy water in the housing.

Gets the job done
I get municipal drinking water with 1-2ppm of of chlorine (as much as a public pool) and 22 grains of hardness (more than 2x what's considered "extremely hard"). When I had a water softener installed in my house, I also had aPentek 20" Big Blue Housing installed before softener. I wanted the carbon filter for a few reasons: 1) Keep chlorine out of the shower and bath, out of my family's lungs and off of our skin 2) Keep chlorine out of the washing machine where it bleaches our clothing 3) Protect the resin in the water softener, which should double it's life 4) Protect the plumbing (PEX pipes, rubber in fixtures, etc...) from chlorine 5) Remove the small amount of sediment that is in the city water which collects in valves and fixtures I previously used thePentek RFC20-BB Radial-Flow Granular Activated Carbon Cartridge . In comparison, this filter is less expensive, has a finer sediment filter (5 micron vs. 25 micron) and it's rated for up to 180F. Also, carbon block filters don't have the same channeling issues as GAC filters, which become less effective at higher flow rates. However, compared to the RFC20-BB this filter can't handle as much water (only 40,000 Gal. vs. 70,000 Gal.) and has a bigger pressure drop (5.5 psi @ 5 gpm vs. 0.9 psi @ 4 gpm). Neither of those were a big concern for me. We use less than 1,000 gal/week so the capacity easily exceeds the 6 month replacement cycle. As for water pressure, I get a solid 60+ psi coming into my house and even a 10 psi drop is not noticeable. If you already have pressure issues, get RFC20 instead.

Been using for years and very happy.
These are NSF approved and has the seal on the label. 5 microns, so takes out almost all chlorine and tastes in the water. I have this in line before my water softener to remove the chlorine which kills water softeners. I have it auto-shipped every three months to replace the current one, since our community uses a lot of horrible tasting and smelling ground water. Works excellent! I’ve used this exact one for many years and never any issues. Highly recommended!!

Great filter. Zero chlorine taste
This is a great filter for the price. I have bought cheaper filters in the past and they do not get the chlorine taste out of the water. Always end up buying the more expensive filters to get the results I want. Well this one works great. Zero chlorine

Lasted 5 days vs 6 months, didn’t even look dirty when I pulled it
Pressure dropped below useable levels within 5 days. Typically use a regular non carbon filter with no pressure drop for 6 months. Resulted in tastier water, but not useable for well water IMO.

Good filter
This is a good quality 5 micron carbon block filter that I've used many times before with good results putting it after a 5 micron pleated pre-filter. Note that it's listed as 4-5/8" diameter, which in the past has been a problem in some 4-1/2" housings, but it's now been slightly redesigned with thinner end cap plastic material and now comes in at 4-9/16" exactly so fits mine properly. Unfortunately the one I received was very poory packed in an oversized carton and arrived with a broken end cap, but should still be useable, so not worth the hassle to return for a refund -still disappointing

California proposition 65 warning
This filter arrived with a disclaimer on the side of it saying that it contains chemicals known to cause cancer and birth defects. They should really but that in the Amazon description. I would have liked to known this before purchasing!
