"Slim" Really Does Mean SLIM

Don't kid yourself. This shirt is narrow at the waist. If you aren't thin and athletic it will not fit you. If you are, it fits great and looks great.

OK, but don't expect too much

I bought this shirt in my size (16.5 x 35) and decided to take a $49 gamble by washing and machine-drying it as soon as I got it. It fits, and it seems made reasonably well, but it's definitely a bargain shirt. Amazon says they are trying to compete with Banana, but the BR shirts I think are better, for more or less the same money (catch the BR shirts on sale.) The Amazon shirt is a thinner material, and it is cut pretty short. The front is cut a full 2" shorter than the back ... I don't really understand that. In reality, this is more Old Navy quality than Banana Republic. It's OK and it will do the job for a little while; just don't expect too much. Interestingly, this is the second of these shirts that I ordered form Amazon; last week I ordered a different color but accidentally ordered a fitted, instead of slim. That shirt was made of a completely different material! It still said 100% Supima Cotton, but it felt like a cheap flannel shirt, and it had absolutely no structure or "crispness" to it. When I buttoned all but the top button, the whole thing laid open wide a la the 80's. There was no way it could be called a "dress shirt." The one I am reviewing here is much more crisp and has just enough structure to be called a dress shirt. My issue is that if I order another one, which type will they send me?

The fit was close to perfect. I have an athletic build

I was honestly really surprised with the quality. The fit was close to perfect. I have an athletic build, so slim fit shirts are usually way too tight in the chest and shoulders, but not this one. There's a tiny bit of extra fabric around the waist, but it's not a custom dress shirt, so a perfect fit is too much to expect. The construction is great. All of the buttons were secure, and all of the seams were neatly sewn. The fabric has a really nice feel and is about a medium weight. I ordered the pink/blue geo pattern, and it's beautiful. It's a steal for this price, honestly. The quality is as good as or better than Bonobos, and definitely better than a lot of the other online shirt retailers.

Cuff Size

Would like the buttons on the cuffs to be positioned wider. Fits my wrist perfectly, which means it does NOT fit my wrist with a watch.

Best Dress shirt for the price

There used to be a sale for this brand. I got this shirt for $14 and it fits nicely. Just wait for it to go on sale and buy.

Perfect Fit for Tall - Lanky - Athletic Build

I am 6' 3" - 175 with an athletic build and this is hands down the best fitting slim fit shirt! I will only purchase this brand from now on b/c the fit is so perfect with no alterations needed. I would normally purchase 16.5 neck and 36/37 sleeve dress shirts from the store. They would always be so baggy around the midsection. I finally found a 15.5 neck 36/37 sleeve but it was super short and would always come untucked. With the Amazon Brand - BUTTONED DOWN slim fit shirt I purchased a 15.5 neck 37 sleeve and its a perfect fit and length.

Good fit across the chest... sleeves shrink quite a bit

These "Buttoned Down" shirts seem to run a little large relatively to other brands. I ended up getting the slim fit after I found myself swimming in fabric in the "tailored" fit. I have an athletic build and have trouble finding shirts that fit, but this fits my torso very well. I wish the second button was about a half-inch higher on the placket. I've washed it a couple of times, and it is still wrinkle free. The big negative is that the shirt shrinks a lot in the sleeves (why mostly in sleeves, I have no idea). The cuff is now about an inch or inch and a half shorter than when I bought it. I can live with it being a dressier shirt I wear in warmer weather because I can just roll up the sleeves, but it looks absurd otherwise. I won't buy another one mainly because I have no idea what arm length to get and the uncertainty of whether the sleeves would shrink on the next one. As always, caveat emptor!

Bonita pero delgada

Aunque es 100% algodón pima no se siente de tan buena calidad como otras camisas 100% algodón. Es más delgada. El patrón es como se ve en la foto, tal vez un poco más mate el color. Entre las cosas buenas es que casi no se arruga aunque es de algodón. Se asemeja a una mezcla de poliéster/algodón en lo que tiene que ver con la facilidad de planchado. Los acabados están bien hechos. Es ligera así que en general estoy satisfecho.

Viene amplia y no tiene mucha forma

Parecía ser una buena opción calidad-precio pero viene muy amplia, la tela es muy delgada así que no da mucha forma, me gustó que tuviera un rango de tallas variado pero no queda como otras marcas, la tuve que regresar y buscar otra opción para mi esposo

Quality shirt, tight in chest.shoulders.

Good quality shirt, I found the slim fit tight in chest and shoulders, I am 6’4’ 220 lbs fit but not athletic, exchanged for tailored fit, 37” sleeves, is a nice fit, not baggy. I will buy this again.
