Hard to install

Just didn’t work for my doors

Broke after 13 months of normal use.

I only had the handle 13 months and when I was opening the door on Monday, the handle snapped off. Can't believe it would break like that. Not worth buying if you have to replace it in 13 months.

Screws loosen very quickly

The two screws attaching the wooden grip to the metal frame of the handle simply cannot withstand very much use. The handle had this issue when I bought my house, and I was pleased to find the exact same model of handle after much searching online. But the replacement I bought only felt tight and secure for ONE MONTH of use. And it's not a matter of tightening the screws back into the grip (which is very tedious to do, because there's no space for a screwdriver between the handle and the door, so the whole assembly needs to be removed). The issue is the wearing down of the wood itself; after a total of 6 months the screws barely even fasten to the grip because of how worn down the wood is. I will be replacing all the sliding door handles in my house with new, matching handles from a different manufacturer.

This was fairly easy to install

This item seems to have mixed reviews, so I'll toss in my opinion. This was fairly easy to install, and I'm not particularly mechanically inclined. The handle seems sturdy to me, but I just installed it yesterday, so I don't know how it will hold up over time. This handle is reversible, so it will work with either a right- or left-side door. My door is on the right side, so I had to remove the lock to reverse it. This added another 10 minutes or so to the installation, because I had to tinker with it a little to figure it out. By the way, this info is not included in the instructions, so you'll have to figure it out on your own. I would estimate it took me a total of 45 minutes or so to install. I had to add a washer to the hook on the door frame to push the catch forward. I don't think that's a defect in the lock or latch, I think that's just due to my 40-year-old condo settling over the years. As others have noted, the wood is lighter than pictured, but it would be easy enough to stain it later. It was a perfect match for my 40-year-old handle, so there weren't many replacement options. Overall I'm pleased, and I'm glad to have a working lock again!

So far so good

I would rate the first one I received a zero as after 4 days the handle fell off the top screw-like it was stripped? That part comes preassembled so not sure what was wrong. I requested a new wood handle only but I had to get the whole kit. Thankfully so because there was no way I could get the screws out to replace the handle! 2nd one went on much quicker and I returned the defective unit for a refund. So far so good.

I finally found the right size!!

I had been searching for the correct-sized handle and finally found it! It was easy to install, it's sturdy, and it doesn't look extremely cheap. I have it bookmarked in case I need to replace it in the future! Great purchase.

Good Sliding door lock

Great value and easy to install. Since it didn't come with instructions I figured it out without it. It's the flat 3 inch metal spring which keeps the lock in place is what you need to know how to install. Overall it's a great replacement for the original part.

Good price but doesn't hold up

The door handle is 3 and 1/2 inches. Which is not as common as other handles. So it is a good find on Amazon. Only problem with this is I've had to replace it about every two years. The screws get stripped and end up wearing out... then the handle becomes loose. Eventually will fall off and be useless. So good value for the money but does not last more than two years in my experience. I have ordered this three times on Amazon so far.
