Worked perfectly!!

This item was easy to install. Worked great.

Broke 15 months after installation

The product was easy to install, but unfortunately it broke about 15 months after installation. This was installed on a vacation home- so it was not even subject to daily use. The lock still works- but the tongue on the handle does not come out anymore. So without the door locked- the screen can just blow open. Very disappointing.

It was a decent replacement

This was a decent replacement for a broken storm door handle. It was a little difficult to get properly installed, but I’m honestly not sure if that was because of this mechanism, or how the homeowner installed the old one (let’s just say, he wasn’t the most precise person- thus, I was hired to install the replacement). I’ll buy it again if I encounter another door like that one.

Only buy this if you have the same holes in your door. You're not going to cut into a storm door so this didn't work for us. It is good quality but you must have the same type opening as this lock.

Really good replacement

Only problem with this lock is one pre drilled screw hole did not line up with the existeing hole in door frame. This might be the 3rd time Ive replace the handle and lock on this screen door but its the first where the holes didn't line up. I just left that screw out and everything seems to be secure enough and actually much strong than what it has replaced. Other than the misallined hole Im very pleased.

The latch in the mortice binds.

The sliding latch located in the mortice binds because the chrome is too thick or the latch was made improperly. The mortice needed to be disassembled and the sliding latch needs to be sanded down. I have been sanding for a few minutes and the sliding latch is still binding in the mortice. I ended up using the old mortice assembly and will try to make this one work and keep it as a spare. Admittedly the product is well priced I have seen parts for this lock set go for much more than the whole assembly.

Very nice replacement

The new handles and strike plate and assembly were a warm welcome to a screen security door that hadn't worked in over 23 years since I bought the house. I didn't know these parts were still available. It only took a little bit of nibbling and drilling because the original owner had bought a left handed door and installed up-side-down to get the handle on the right. But because the latch can be flipped in either direction, I was able to fix the backwards working handle. One hole was a bit different, so I had to drill and re-tap using self scripting screws. Yours may just go right in.
