My favorite job shirt
I wore one of these years ago and am now working a job where I could choose the jacket I wanted. My thoughts immediately went back to this job shirt and was very happy to see that Propper was still making it and hadn’t changed a thing. Not that they need to, it’s perfect. This is a very lightweight jacket, 1/4 zip yet easy to take on and off. This jacket keeps me warm without making me sweat. I know, it’s hard to explain it unless you’ve worn it, but this is the jobshirt I’ve never had to take off in the back of the ambulance while treating a patient. I don’t know how they rate the waterproof-ness of this jacket, but I’m telling you that I’ve been in pouring rain storms and literal blizzards with it on and never once needed a towel to dry off nor needed to remove it because I felt wet. Again, all while staying warm without sweating. The zippers on the two side pockets are great and are big enough for an iPhone. Easy to open and close and no need to worry about things falling out like you do with the cotton job shirts. They are fleece lined too so they’re great for your hands in the winter. The pocket on the chest isn’t very wide, but it’s good for the little things you don’t want to lose but need quick access to. If you’ve worn the all cotton “traditional” job shirts in EMS or Fire, you know they are usually oversized, bulky, fade and shrink. This jacket does none of those things. The waistline of this jacket has a pull cord to make it a perfect fit. The pull cord does not interfere with any movements. You’ll forget that it’s even there and you can’t really see it from the outside. This jacket does not ride up when you’re moving around and fits perfectly without being too tight or loose. You will not look sloppy in these jackets. I wash mine 3-4 times a week. I wash it inside out because I have vinyl lettering on the back of mine. These jackets/job shirts do not fade one single bit (always have had black). They keep their true size and do not shrink or ride up either. I wear this jacket about 5 months out of the year. It works great in chilly, fall nights as well as those early spring days when it’s still cold out. In the wintertime, I simply add a very warm turtleneck underneath it and can usually get away with just that. On the days it’s below zero, this jacket gets kept home because it would take too many layers underneath to make it functional. My bosses loved this jacket so much that they have decided to use them as our company issued jackets in place of any they used to use from Bla*er or 5.1*. These truly are that good!

Great pullover. It somehow manages to be warmer than expected for a light piece in the cold, yet it doesn't cook me when I step inside and leave it on for a bit. Nice trick. I like the cut. The shoulders are a bit bigger than I expected, but I'm enough of a gym rat that it works. There is not excess cloth around he middle, which I always like. I'm 6 and a half feet tall, about 250, yet the sleeves and body are long enough. Without a sweater underneath it is slightly loose but still looks good. With a sweater, there is room and pretty substantial warmth. The nylon over the shoulders is good for preventing pack abrasion, and also water resistant. I suppose it is even decent padding for shooting, but I usually shoot padless anyway. That nylon can make a little noise, though. I don't think I'd wear it hunting due to that. Otherwise, it is durable and feels and looks great. Good quality zippers. The Velcro spot on the sleeve for patches provides me much more amusement in a good way than I thought it would. The pockets are useful, even for civilians. Recommended.

I have one single class where the instructor keeps the AC cranked to 60. Needed a light weight pullover to keep in my backpack. I saw Propper brand hoodies in the store and they are nice, and I have several of their uniform polos and pants, so I knew the quality was good. This is light, but warm enough for my needs, very nice material, soft and comfortable. I understand why they put the nylon on the top section (their website says its for abrasion resistance for backpack straps and weapon slings) however, i have found it to be noisy and slippery. Only knocked one star off for that. The velcro patch and hidden flap are great for uniform use, I can keep a department patch, a namestrip, and a cloth badge patch in the pocket, and if i have to identify myself off-duty, I can with ease.

Fits great over sweatshirt or vest
Usually wear a medium shirt and ordered a medium jacket thanks to previous reviews saying that it does come a little big. Fits great over sweatshirt or vest. Like the flexibility. Cannot review on warmth but I'm sure it will do as expected. Arrived on time, no issues.

Much, much nicer than it appears in pictures. Very professional looking. Unlike other propper outerwear, it doesn't run large. Order your regular size.
