Don't buy this model, get the better one for less $$
I recently did a deep dive into caulking guns. Who would have thought that there are many features ans technologies that are used in these high end caulking gun. I don't have time to go into the details here, so here's the quick and dirty. I compared 15 different guns from Amazon basics, newborn, Cox, red devil aldion, Ox, home depot, and lowes. This comparison is for 3 rotating barrel style guns. The Amazon basics gun, the red devil 3989, and this gun the red devil 3988. Of the 3 the Amazon basics was the worse built and had a really limp trigger pull. Don't get the azb. Now comparing the red devil 3988 and the red devil 3989. As of now the 3988 cost more than the 3989. The 3989 is a much better built gun, smoother function, and the exact same features. Except for the thrust ratio. The 3989 has a higher thrust ratio which is a benefit unless you are trying to empty the caulk in a limited amount of trigger pulls. Which you aren't. So if you are here and looking at this caulking gun take a step back and search for the 3989. If the 3989 ends up being $5 more it's still worth it due to build quality. Neither gun have a tip cutter, which i don't understand why they don't. Neither are dripless. But i don't find that s problem because of the very sensitive trigger pull. Using minimal trigger pull is the trick for this style gun. Also being in the habit of pushing the release with your thumb can help. Another nice thing about high quality caulk guns is that they are smooth functioning and quiet. None of that loud squeaking noise. So examine the pics. The 3989 has the red rubber/ latex coated trigger. Look at how much better built it is. To sum it up. Save money. Buy the less expensive and better built gun.

Little rough on the bare hand
Smooth operation, quick pressure release but the handle was uncomfortable on the palm when sneezing for caulking. A work glove solved the issue. The material I was dispensing was Master Seal NP1 Gray Polyurethane Caulk which is slightly more viscous than the normal white caulk.

Feels cheap
I don't like the feeling of this gun! Feels cheap and it's hard to push out roofing chalking

Updated version shipping now. Fixs main concern.
The gun works great so far. The no drip part does work and uses 2 slides instead of the cheaper one. The picture amazon has seems to show it with a plastic handle. I almost did not buy due to that. But the one I received, and in the photos I added, shows its now metal. May add a little weight but should make it hold up better to thicker caulks/glues.

Not dripless as stated
Gun arrive damaged. Mediocre quality and does NOT have dripless feature as advertised. I returned it and purchased a better quality one.
