In the right tool this work well

TLDR; for what I paid this is a good value hot rope cutting blade I used this rope-cutting blade in a Well D550 soldering gun. It heated quickly and cut cleanly thick halyard lines as well as other sheet and lazy jack rigging on a boat project. Past this initial use, I only expect to use this occasionally throughout the sailing season. With that, I expect this cutter to last several years or even a decade so long as is stored in a dry, non-corrosive atmosphere

Not what I was thinking

This is for the Blade only. I though the price as steep as it was, was for the gun too. I was looking for a cheap gun and a blade to cut rope.

This is THE way to cut plastic rope!

I put this in my Weller soldering gun. It slices ski/ anchor rope like butter, literally not figuratively. The rope is perfectly cauterized and solid at the cut tip. This is the only way to cut plastic rope. I’ll never use a sharp blade for rope now that I have this hot blade.
