Decent replacement but not quite as smooth as original

I have a fairly old and beat-up screen. I've repaired it several times and have been able to reuse the original rollers each time with some clever repairs. This time one went missing (don't ask me where it went) and the other completely broke. I got this replacement set and as similar as it was and simple to install, it doesn't glide quite as well as the originals even with a bit of oil. But are they adequate as a replacement? Sure beats having none! :) 4 out of 5 stars.

Easy to Install

One of the plastic rollers was broken on my 20+ year old Anderson sliding screen door. I purchased this roller assembly and it fit perfectly! I replaced both rollers and sprayed a little silicone spray on the guide rail. The screen door glides smoothly. The roller assemblies were very easy to install! The screws included with the assemblies fit perfectly as well!

Better than new.

Since installing the new slide roller the 60 year old patio screen door at our cabin has never slid easier, even with 3 grandkids running in and out a zillion times a day it seems to be holding up.

Better then factory replacement

I bought the factory plastic ones and they are junk didn't last but a month. These stainless ones are 100% better and have made my door slide like new again. I would definitely recommend these.

Installs with two screws (original roller screws for fit)

As advertised, with stainless steel rollers/bearings. Exactly like the early to mid-1990's plastic ones. The enclosed screws were narrow, and the two original screws should be saved and used to secure the roller cartridge. Also good to know: silicone spray improves the older tracks.

These rollers are much sturdier than some of the cheaper models.

I bought the cheaper model and the aluminum inner housing was too soft to support the roller wheel and the adjuster gear. Within a week the screen door was dragging and difficult to open. This set is sturdy enough to hold the wheel axle and adjusting pin solidly in place. I would still suggest that you avoid adjusting the roller height with the screen door installed. I set the screen and checked the height, level and sliding smoothness and removed the door to make height changes.

Don't cheap out

Don't cheap out and buy the plastic wheel ones. they only last about a year then you have to replace OR worse yet you break off a piece of the wheel when reinstalling the door int he track. Spend the little extra and get these. you will be happy for years and your screen door will roll so smooth.
