Seems fine but I can't really tell

First of all, 3 stars is *not* a bad review. I use it to mean "does what it says, with no major problems". For the record, I use 4 stars to mean "better than it had to be", and the rare 5 stars means "I was surprised and delighted by how good it is". That said, this aftermarket filter fits my Kawasaki engine and as far as I can tell, filters the oil. But of course I have no ability to actually test its performance versus other options. I plan to keep buying them, though.

(Update) Just as advertized!

I received 3 filters one came in a Sterns box and had a Sterns label on it the other two came without a filter box, with a cheap plastic sheet wrapped around its open end to keep it clean. It is also shorter than a Stens (or the Kawasaki it replaces). The only remote similarity with a Stens or the one pictured for that matter is that they are both black. The other is there are more holes at the bottom of the filter on the Sterns than the other filters shipped. I will be contacting the sell to find out want is going on. I will report back if I hear back from them. Update:2-4-2014 Here is the response from the seller. "thank you we apologize for this amazon picking error we only shipped stens filters to amazon however there are other suppliers who do supply this filter to amazon and must have sent the oregon filter in place of the stens filter and now amazons stock is mixed up I will reship you 2 stens filters to make up for this amazon error" Update:2-5-2014 Received 2 new Sterns Filters in their box. Great working with MowtownUSA. It was nice to see a company stand behind their product even when it was someone else's mistake!

Perfect fit

Needed to do an oil change on my X300, the dealer I normally buy the John Deere filter from was closed due to covid 19 so I thought I would try this. one. Looks identical, and fits perfectly. Less expensive also, I'll buy again when the time comes.

Oil changing catharsis....

What can I say? It's an oil filter and it fit exactly like the original. If you find changing your oil and filter(s) a cathartic experience, then the Stens is an essential ingredient for your next therapy session. Looked, and felt exactly the same as the OE Kawasaki one it replaced - but for less coin.
