Assembly Required

Assembly required. The metal base is not attached to the wood plate. Materials to assemble are included - even the screwdriver. It wasn't difficult but we had to figure out how to center the base. Overall its very nice.

OK, but very light and flimsy.

This is ok for what we wanted them for, but don’t expect it to be sturdy. Anything more than several ounces in weight that is not centered may tip the thing over. Or bumping it will too. “Made of wood” is misleading. It is essentially balsam wood. The screw hole flanges on the stand are not all flat enough to sit on the top when assembling so you may need to bend and risk breaking them off. If your expectations and needs are appropriate and you are careful in the assembly this can work ok for you too.

Great Pedestal!

I took a chance on this pedestal, and I'm really glad I did. You can see in the photo of the instructions that the tabs are bent back. That's because you bend them back to lay flat after it arrives. I bent them back without a struggle. I took my time, and there was no issue. There are no pre-drilled pilot holes, so I recommend using a ruler to make sure you're centered, putting the pedestal on upside down, marking the holes with a pen, and using an electeic drill to make your pilot holes. I used the 5/64 bit. It's just easier that way. They give you the screws and a little screwdriver with your purchase. All worked fine. It's a beautiful, rustic pedestal. I don't really understand the negative comments in the prior reviews, and I'm very happy with my purchase.

Missing Parts - incomplete

The item itself looks nice and would have been even better if it had either arrived assembled like the picture shows, or with the necessary screws to put the two pieces together. As it is, I have to determine what size and length of screws are required and make an additional trip out to buy them and then assemble the piece. That should not be required. If it is required, it would be pretty important to point that out right at the top, in the description. Finding the center of the piece and figuring out where to make the screw holes was also very tricky, plus the fact that the screws have to be 1/4" or shorter but still have heads big enough to not slip through the mounting holes makes this a tall order. In the end all I could find were panhead sheetmetal screws 3/8" long and I had to use an ugly stack of washers to avoid poking the sharp points out the top side of the piece. I would have taken this complaint to the seller but there is no link anywhere to contact them. I got an incomplete shipment, maybe you will too.

Rustic and pretty

I love this candle stand...so beautiful for fall with a wreath around the bottom and pumpkins and a candle on top!

A crafty person will make it their own

Don’t expect a heavy/strong product. It may be good sized for a centerpiece however it’s fragile. The “wood” plate on top is soft almost styrofoam like.. it’s this way so the tiny screws can slide through to attach the tabletop post. I agree the picture can be a bit misleading but just don’t overdo your expectations. If you want to use it as is and your not willing to be crafty with it when it arrives I wouldn’t buy it. I used twine and attached it all around the tabletop post to eliminate the metal appearance. Looks really good.

Nice once you put it together

well constructed and nice rustic look but mine did not have the holes pre-drilled so putting it together correctly was a little challenging. thankfully I am pretty handy with a screwdriver and ruler. Also, don't put anything damp or cloth directly on wood as the stain may rub off on it.
