Great for controlling algae in my fish pond

I use this in my small backyard fish pond to help keep the algae down. I just add a capful every so often and it drastically reduces the algae growth and doesn’t harm the fish. I have a small pond so the amount needed maybe more depending on the size of your pond. There are directions on the bottle.

Good product, cannot keep water clear on it's own

This product is the best way to try and keep water clear from algae growth without any chemicals if you are going down the natural route. I added this to my pond after I had a huge buildup of string algae and needed to drain, scrub and refill. Within a week or two I had algae again, this time single cell (green water). I have a 2,500 gal pond and used nearly the whole bottle after adding fresh water. I think this product did help fight against the string algae, but can't keep water clear entirely on it's own; it's all about the pond conditions. For anyone looking to clear up their pond water, my recommendation is to use this product as well as adding a LOT of pond plants. They will compete with the algae for nutrients and shade the pond surface, essentially starving the algae of it's sustenance. After adding my plants my pond is about 90% clear after one week. Hope this is helpful for DIY pond builders like myself! I've attached before and after photos

It Helps

I didn't have high hopes for this product, but our pond was looking awfully green. I was at the pet store and this is all they had, so I got it, hoping it would better better than nothing and not kill our fish. We'd had a couple of barley bales before and they were useless. To my surprise and delight, it works! It does a nice job of clarifying the water. It also darkens it, for a while, but it is transparent and not cloudy or green. The fish are just fine. We've used bacterial cleaners in the past, but we haven't been able to get our old brand anymore. This is actually better at clarifying the water, but it does not get rid of alge stuck to the sides of the pond. It doesn't look too bad, but some people may not like that. Amazon has a great price on this and my shipment arrived well-packed, which is important for liquids. Overall, it is a good product that clears the water, quite quickly.

It actually did the job.

I have a small water garden with no artificial filtration system. I use mostly plants to keep the water healthy. However, I got started late this year, and the water got very heavy with algae. I tried it all, from barley rings to tablets, etc. I saw this extract online, and being desperate, I ordered some. One dose, and the water cleared. I made sure my water plants kept growing and covering more of the water surface, too, which definitely helped, but I've only had to add one additional dose of the extract. Yeah, it did the job.

Works great. Really does keep water clear.

The media could not be loaded. This stuff is amazing. I have a wine half-barrel and liner with water plants and goldfish. Frequent rains were always clouding the water to the point I couldn't see anything ... until I tried this. Within 2-3 days the water was clear again and it has remained crystal clear all summer. All it takes is a few drops with every partial water refresh. Fish and plants are happy and healthy, and appear to be living in harmonious symbiosis. Exactly what I was hoping for.

BEWARE: Don't use this with a water pump that has a filter.

Even mixing the proper ratio of this extract in the basin water may cause the pump filter to clog with brown gunk that could result in causing the pump to keep working without the proper amount of water going through it to lubricate it, and causing the failure of an expensive pump, as happened in my situation.

Great for clear water

It cleared the murky algea within a day, the string/hair algea is definitely a challenge, a challenge this product and I have failed at... Clear water yes 100% String algae, no no no

Pas impressionné

J'ai qu'un petit bassin, à peine 90 gallons (450 litres), après deux traitements l'eau est toujours aussi embrouillée. Nettoie mon filtre régulièrement, pour l'instant je doute de l'efficacité du produit, mais je poursuivrai les traitements tel qu'indiqué en espérant voir des résultats positifs dans les prochains jours ou semaines.

It works

A cap full in a 200 gallon pond every month keeps the string allege away. Fish seem unaffected.
