Very Challenging

Thames and Kosmos is an exceptional company with great products. This particular kit is meant for the older child who is self taught or has a knowledgeable adult assisting. The builds are very challenging and the instructions are a bit nebulous. I would recommend choosing some of T&K’s simpler kits. This one is really for “Pros”.

Challenging and fun physic set

My 8 year old grandson likes challenging activities and this is rated for ages 10 and over. He made a hydraulic loader on his own as he reads the instructions and looks at the diagrams.

Unmatched Parts - Confusing Instructions

Beware the paid reviews, this shouldn't be rated as high as it is... We lived the Thames and Kosmos Chemistry kit and so figured this would be a great lab to accompany middle school Physics. Not so much... The instruction booklet is written from a previous version of the items included so when trying to find corresponding pieces, the pictures do not match up. Not to mention, there are no text instructions for step-by-step pictures so it's very easy to lose your place especially when trying to match up the pieces, as mentioned before, are different now. Then there is the flimsy paper pieces that break as you are trying to connect them to the plastic harness. The wind tunnel isn't plastic, it is flimsy paper at the main cylinder. So when tying to ?tape/glue? the pieces together you do not get a tight fit and it comes apart. As a homeschooling mama, who has purchased multiple kits including online monthly kits, this particular kit is a waste of time and money. Luckily my 13 year old is a budding engineer and will be able to utilize more efficient kids to crate the actual wind tunnel experience.Thames & Kosmos Physics Pro (V 2.0) Science Kit

Excellent Science Set - Highly Recommended

This Thames & Kosmos Physics Pro (V 2.0) Science Kit is an excellent collection of practical experiments that would be great for any science minded child! We love science and all of my children enjoyed participating in Science Fairs, even when they didn't have to as part of a school assignment, to the point that my teen daughter once declared "Science is my sport!". The set is quite large and has a lot of very small pieces, so caution should be taken with small children and pets. Our dining room table is our usual work area, except for the the water related experiments. The included manual is well written and easy to follow, but younger users will definitely need adult help with some of the builds and explanation of advanced concepts. This kit is an excellent starting point that will give your budding scientist a good foundation to build and expand on the concepts being shown here. I was very impressed with the included wind tunnel in particular since my daughter build a similar one many years ago for a Science Fair experiment on lift (she won 1st in her division for that one). Highly Recommended! CFH

Kit was received in used condition

I ordered this for Christmas but I was very disappointed to find the kit was obviously used. Some paper and sheet plastic parts were ripped. Interestingly the seal was unbroken. It was disappointing for a 10 year old on Christmas morning. I've requested a replacement .

Schade, wir hatten höhere Erwartungen

Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis passt nicht. Wir haben es wegen des Windkanals gekauft. Genau dieser wird hauptsächlich auch Pappteilen gebaut. Kinder bauen noch nicht millimetergenau. Sobald etwas beim Kleben verrutscht, wird es ungenau und funktioniert in der Konsequenz nicht richtig. Ferner reißen die Pappteile rasch ein. Das ist sehr schade und für das Kind äußerst ernüchternd. Schade.
