Excellent product for the money
A great challenge for kids & adults.

Lots of variations so can be easy or highly challenging
Very pleased with this! I was glad to see that the cards were thick, sturdy, and smoothly cut. My child (8 yo) got very far very quickly and with the last several pieces discovered how challenging it really is because you might have to go back and change a number of pieces already placed. He got a little frustrated, so instead of 8x8, we changed to 6x6. When he achieved success easily, he wanted to build it out. We have done different sizes, rectangles, squares, etc. He really loved seeing the patterns and shapes that emerged. Infinitely replay able (I had fun with it, too). Very good value for the price.

Such a great gift to have around!
I have purchased many of these! I find they are great gifts to keep wrapped in the closet when I need one of those "emergency gifts" like when the kids have a birthday party to attend that they forgot to tell me about. I recently gave i e to a very active 8nyr old and he literally sat still for 2 hours playing this! I have also gifted a young man who worked as an engineer on a nuclear submarine. He also loved it. You won't be sorry you bought this

A big hit at school and home
It takes quite an amazing product to get a five star rating out of me, so Izzi gets four stars. I'm of the mindset that "A"s in school are handed out too freely, as well, which should help explain my thought process. Basically, this is a great product. It's just not OUTSTANDING enough for me to give it the highest possible rating, which I feel should be handed out infrequently. Please don't let my possibly too-high standards lead you to believe that this is not a terrific game.[ BTW, my 10 y.o. definitely gives Izzi the full 5 stars.] My daughter plays this game with her ALPHA classmates. ALPHA stands for Accelerated Learning Program for High-Level Achievers and is the Florida equivalent of Horizons in Ohio (basically additional advanced instruction for the brightest kids). Now I'm not bragging (it's anonymous, right?). I'm indicating that the smartest kids in the school LOVE this puzzle. And so do the rest. It's as easy as Sudoku to learn (easier, really), but challenging to master. And therein lies the fun. So much fun that my daughter begged to have it here at home. Okay, she begged for two years and I never got around to ordering it (shame on me). She's a 10 year old fourth grader now and still loves it. So do I! We played together the very day it arrived...after she stopped jumping up and down in celebration, that is! It is only cardboard, though and so needs to be taken care of. Just don't spill a drink on it and you're fine. You need a flat surface of about 2 ft. square to play. Games go relatively quickly so it won't sit around like, say, a large puzzle might. Enjoy it with children of all ages and abilities and with adults. It's really fun!

A jig-saw puzzle with straight edges, plays like a poker monopoly, but is actually more than that
There are 64 square game pieces. The (simple) rule is to match the colors (black/white) by the edges (that's the jig-saw analogy) to form an 8x8 super-square. Although the maker claims it has "almost a zillion solutions", I seemed to be hitting the zillion +1 combination on my first try and ended up with an odd piece left over that just won't fit (that's the poker monopoly analogy). But the resulting picture is still pretty, and the process of building the squres (starting as 2x2, then 3x3, 4x4, and so on) is quite fun. I was going to give this game a 4 star rating because it's not all that exciting. But then I read the descriptions on the box and realized the game can be plain and simple (as I did it) or it dares you to attempt the "higher level" challenges (shown as pictures taken from the game box). Here's a game that won't (and shouldn't) get dull any time soon. For that, I am adding the 5th star to the rating.

There are 1,000 of ways this puzzle ends up with a different design.
This puzzle has over millions of solutions. When you get to the end you mY have to move around 3-5 pieces to finish it and every puzzle is a different picture. You match the pieces by shapes on a piece and colors, white or black. I like to do it by myself as I’m concentrating on my next moves. It’s fun to do with others too. Calming, keeps the mind moving and you get a sense of achievement. Enjoy!

It’s fun and educational
It’s a great classroom game. I wish the pieces were made of wood. It is a little to hard for younger grades but perfect for kid to older kids.

Basic but surprisingly fun..
Surprisingly fun. Even our oldest soon (7) likes to play it by himself. Paid around 4$ for it. Definitely worth it at that price. Think of it as single player Blokus.

Tangrams-style puzzle challenge
The concept here is very simple: use all of the cardboard squares to make a square puzzle in which all touching pieces only touch other pieces of the same shade. i.e. white touches white; black touches black. A simple idea and to begin with it is very simple - another multi-age friendly game. Towards the end, things get tricker and you have to swap pieces in and out in order to complete your square. Once you've managed to complete the first square, there are variations using shapes to make the challenge more devilish - I've not attempts those yet as its still a new-ish purchase but it means the game has longevity. My only criticism would be that the pieces are cardboard - given the usual quality of ThinkFun's games, I'm surprised the playing pieces weren't made of some sort of plastic to make them more durable and resistant to damage.

Great puzzle. Extortionate price.
Excellent puzzle. I used it as a teacher and now my 5 year old grandsons are fascinated. They do a 6 by 6 square which usually works out. My only gripe is the price. I see that it's $6 in USA but between £30 and £70! to get it here! !

Thinkfun puzzles always stimulate the grey cells!
We bought this for our nearly 6-year old (the pack says 8+) who loves puzzles. There are 64 pieces. There is just one rule - the edges must match. Doing all 64 pieces (to make an 8x8 square) was quite tricky even for us adults. So, it was understandably difficult for a 6 year-old. So, we modified the rules by asking the kid to first try a 4x4, then graduate to a 5x5. At 6 years old, she managed a 6x6 with ease; 7x7 was trickier... this is a puzzle that will grow with age. Worth the buy. We have bought other stuff from Thinkfun and they have all been very educational so far. They are also made from good quality materials.
