great for black toe

After watching several YouTube videos looking for a way to prevent black toe, I ran across a podiatrist that recommended thick socks. The gold Thorlos are thickest sock they make and these are working out very well, so far. I have played 3 rounds of golf, walking the course each time. I have not had any issues with black toe, which have plagued me for years. It takes a combination of the right shoe and sock and correct lacing technique, but you can check one of those boxes with these socks.

Not what I expected

I'll start by saying its super comfortable, but this is not what I imagined. I ordered the tennis sock before a sports tournament. Turns out the sock is so thick it doesnt fit in the shoe! It's really comfortable but I can only wear it around the house not anywhere else. So 2 stars because it is very cushiony

Thorlo Men's Tennis sock

I bought this for my husband's birthday. He was wearing 2 socks at a time and killing his feet. He plays at least 3x a week. He thought it was crazy to spend this kind of money on a pair of socks but he's become a true believer and now he'll only wear these socks to play tennis. Considering how expensive they are, you really do have to follow the directions and wash & dry them inside out. I even went out and got liquid fabric softener (which I never used before) just for these socks. If you don't turn them inside out you will ruin them because the padding inside will become matted and useless. I'm not sure if the liquid fabric softener is also a big deal, but I decided it's a good idea to try to get the longest possible life out of each pair considering how expensive they are. Also, my husband wears a size 10 shoe and this size sock fits men with size 9-12 US shoes. He also tried cushioned socks like the ones from Addidas and Nike, but they don't come close to Thorlo socks. If you play tennis, you'll want these socks. UPDATE: These socks lasted a little over a year and I followed the instructions explicitly. Turned them inside out and used fabric softener. We will not be buying them again. If you can afford them, they are the best socks you can get for playing tennis - or probably any sport with that sort of quick movements. We are now buying the less expensive Addidas and Nike socks that are labeled generically for sports. They are not as comfy as Thorlo socks, but don't need special treatment, they're still better than wearing 2 pairs of regular socks, and they last longer.

Sizing issues

I order two pair, size L, for my husband. One pair was significantly smaller than the other (see pics). Both pairs arrived unopened (plastic was sealed) and were marked as size L. The UPC codes on both packages are the same. The larger of the two pair fit my husband, he wears a size 10 shoe, and he really liked them. He says they are comfortable and he would like more but is unsure which size L he'd get. So, we haven't decided if we want to order them again.

Comfy and durable

Husband is avid tennis player and he loves these socks! He plays 2-3 times a week (level 3.5) and likes how cushiony they are. His favourite tennis socks by far.
