Sturdy lock

I can't say how well the mechanism works, but the body and shackle are very sturdy. The core is basically an American Lock series 1100/1200 etc core. I bought both the TP175 and TP275 at the same time and oddly they were both keyed the same. I have no idea what the chances that two locks, of two different models, picked from two Amazon storage bins, would have the same key, but it seems very unlikely, unless they're just making huge batches of locks all keyed the same. That seems like a recipe for disaster if you're buying these to actually secure anything.

Good locks if you want keyed alike and rekeyable

I bought 25 of these (between the 175 and 275 models) buy ordering a handful on Amazon and then then getting the rest through Trimax to make sure I ended up with a keyed alike set. The other reviewer stated that two different locks were ordered and both were received with the same key code. The manufacturer most likely just grabbed two cases to send to Amazon or two cases to send to another seller, so it’s not unusual for you to get the same key code if ordering larger quantities. They do not have any control on which key codes you can order through Amazon. You have to contact Trimax directly if you want a specific key code. You can also order the Puck locks from them with the same key code/key style! These have actually prevented theft during a couple break ins at our yard over the past year, when a dozen other trailers and vehicles were broken into. I also like that they are Rekeyable since I ended up in a situation where that is going to be necessary. Hopefully it won’t be too expensive, or I will just buy new locks. Since they are rekeyable, you need to keep an eye on the screw that holds the lock core in place in the body because that can loosen up and allow enough play that the lock can stick and become difficult to unlock. As long as you keep that screw snug-tight, they work very well. 4 stars since they do start to develop a little rust on the smaller pieces, and shackle, but not to the point that it affects the integrity or performance.
