Grey shirt didn’t have hood as described

The description is for a hooded shirt. I received the same color shirt with no hood.

Comfortable and soft sun protection.

My wife has been using this sun protection hoodie for outdoor walks. She finds that the material is soft, thin, and lightweight. The coral color is pretty, and matches well with everything. The hood adds some versatility in case it is chilly or raining outside. Since it's thin, it's best suited for moderate temperatures. She will continue to use this for outdoor walks.

Nice thin shirt that provides sun coverage on hot days

THICKNESS In terms of thickness this shirt is a 2 out of 5. It is thinner than most shirts but I do have one or two shirts that are even thinner. This shirt is thin enough that it doesn't get terribly hot. I have been hiking wearing the shirt and it does a good job a wicking the moisture away from my body. I have worn this for a couple 4 mile hikes and it has provided the sun coverage and moisture wicking that is similar to my other polyester moisture wicking fabric. SIZE AND FIT I wear a size 36C with a 39" bust. I normally order between a medium and large and depend on a sizing chart to figure it out. This post did not have a size chart so I chanced the medium. While it fits, okay, I think a large would have been a little more comfortable and roomy with a large size. The sleeves or especially long on this shirt which is good if you like the back of your hand covered for more sun protection. Personally I prefer the sleeves shorter because there is so much extra fabric when I need to pull up my sleeves. As to the general style, I am always wary with this style shirt where there is fabric that is meant to cover the neck as I don't like things against my neck but this one isn't too noticeable since the hood and fabric is light it doesn't pull up against my neck. Overall I do like this shirt but the sleeves are a tad long. The fabric is nice and wicking. I just wish they had a sizing chart so it was easier to figure out the size.

UPF 50+ Treatment SHould Help Protect Wearer in Summer

TYR Women's Long Sleeved Sun Protection Performance Hooded Shirt UPF 50+, in Sky Blue. This 90% Polyester, 10% Spandex long sleeved top is recommended by its makers for helping to keep the wearer, while outdoors in the summer, cool and protected from the sun with its UPF 50+ treatment. Its UPF 50+ hoodie, in particular, should help protect neck and hair from the sun's harmful rays. It’s also got thumb holes to help keep sleeves in place. The manufacturers further state that the garment’s silky breathable fabric will wick moisture away from your skin, is quick drying. The hooded shirt is a nice pretty sky blue. However, the garment is 90% polyester, which is not considered a keep-cool, breathable, wicking fabric. The sleeves are also very long, which in my case, would mean that they would have to be shortened, losing the thumb holes. The top also has the initials TYR at neck and sleeve, which I consider odd, as, to the best of my knowledge; this is not a hot, much-desired brand.

Cuter than expected

I got this shirt because of the spf rating and the fact that it has a hood. I'm not sure how cool this is going to be in the heat of the summer, but I've been wearing it to work in the yard and garden in 70 - 80 deg. weather and it's been comfortable. The hood is nice even when it's not on my head because it helps cover my neck - always an area that gets overlooked when avoiding the sun. I love the coral color (much nicer in person than the picture) but I'm not crazy about the large lettering on the shoulder and arm. The thumb holes are helpful if you want extra sun protection on your hands. I typically wear size Small but got a Medium because I knew I didn't want it clingy, which this fabric tends to do. It laundered well with no special attention given to it.

Great fit, awful chemical odor

This shirt has a great fit but also a terrible chemical odor. What was it drenched in? I have it airing out on the porch and will wash it in a few days but it was gagging me when I put the shirt on. I love the fit and feel of it. Very comfortable. Love that it will protect me from harsh sunlight. Plan to use it when hiking this year on vacation.

Sun protection that looks good

There are so many rash guards that are just plain ugly. This one by TYR is one of the better looking ones I've seen. The long sleeves and hood offer optimal coverage. The fabric feels light and cool too, so it's comfortable to wear for longer periods of time. The price seems reasonable too.

Excellent Quality, Loose Fit

I am 5’3”, 115 LBS, 35C, wide shoulders/long arms for my petite build. This top in size Medium fits me great. It is a loose fit so not clinging to all your curves. -The fabric is very light & breezy – love how it feels when I’m wearing it. -The sleeves are plenty long & when I wear it with my thumb in the thumb hole, it comfortably covers my knuckles & the sleeves do not feel tight. -It is a bit longer in the rear than the front – covers my rear. -The hoodie is comfortable to wear & the criss-cross neck also provides sun protection for my neck. -It is really well made. Seams are all neatly done & do not rub. -The seaming around the thumb hole has extra fabric & extra width – I tried to show that in my photos. -Tagless at the neck. One tag on the side seam that can be cut out. -I machine washed it, turned inside-out & hung it to dry. It came out great. I would not put this in the drier even though it says you can, on low heat.
