Nice looking but doesn’t stay up well

Like most extension rods I’ve tried this one doesn’t stay up as well as hoped. Needs a little help from nail or hooks.

Well Made and Stylish Rods for My New Windows

These sturdy black rods with wide flat heads on both ends are just what I needed for my new curtains. They look good and fit well in my old-house window frames with my new windows. They are easy to expand by twisting and detract the same way. I bought chrome rods of a different style too, but I like the black rods better; they are more stylish than the chrome and look more like a permanent solution and not just a temporary fix. I haven't covered all the windows yet and I will definitely be buying more of these rods to finish the job.

I have this just for a curtain to divide a small walk thru. As long as the tension has been set correctly it will not fall very easily.

Sturdy, simple, and beautiful

This is a lovely drapery/shower rod, unlike most of the cheap, flimsy tension rods. The brushed nickel finish matches the hardware in my bathroom. It is substantial, sturdy, nicely designed, and does not seem like it will damage the wood window. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Owned for 2+ Years - Never Had a Problem!

I'm not sure what's going on with the negative ratings because I've been using this tension rod for almost 3 years now and not only has it stayed up but I almost forgot that it was a tension rod! I needed this tension rod to hold up some blackout curtains for my sliding glass door-so you know that those curtains had to be heavy! I bought these back in September 2018, hung up these curtains right here ---> MIUCO Room Darkening Grommet Blackout Window Curtains Panels for Bedroom Set of 2 52x84 Inch and despite the fact that I've had to open those curtains every day, not one time has this tension rod fallen. So I highly suggest that if you're being influenced by the negative reviews, take some time and read what they have to say and then ask yourself whether or not they're being reasonable because I've noticed that some of them will complain that it doesn't stay up only to find out that they been using the tension rod for something else that it clearly wasn't made for. Others will hang up a curtain rod inside of a window pane that was painted with sheer paint as opposed to flat paint (which would definitely lead to the tension rod slipping) and then get mad because it slipped! So you kind of have to get a feel for the common sense of each person who's reviewing these products. As for myself, again, I've had these for 2+ years, they've been holding up heavy blackout curtains and not once have I had a problem with it. I would definitely buy it again if I needed another one.

Perfect for what i needed.

I went to IKEA and got a rod but that required lots of drilling which i decided wasn't necessary. This tension rod worked absolutely perfect. No complaints, nice stainless steel matte finish, and the easiest set up. Simply just align and twist until it's nice and sturdy. Note: you may need two people if you're struggling to do it yourself. I managed but others may not.

Over priced but does its job

Functionally, this does what its meant to do; you unscrew to just over the length you need, slide on the tab-top curtain/s of your choice, then compress it into the space you want to put it. The internal spring then pushes out to hold the pole in place. Rubber ends on the finials prevent marking or damage to the surface you mount it. I only used it to hang a voile curtain, which of course weighs practically nothing, but once put in place properly it does feel stable enough to take a heavier fabric: in fact I now use it as a coat rack (I put some clip rings on, and the coats are held by those) and it happily houses 6 large coats, including a bulky winter coat, 3/4 length pea coat and two leather jackets without budging. Aesthetically, it has a nice, high quality finish. The pole is decent chrome like metal rather than coated cheap metal or plastic - and has a brushed finish, so has a soft sheen and holds up to fingerprints well. However; its an extremely simple pole, and doesnt really have anything about it to put it above the similar products you can buy for as little as £10-£15 if you want a metal one! Additionally, the join where the inner pole extends from is very visible. Not so much a problem if you arrange the curtain tabs in a certain way, if the curtain is large and so tabs sit in close proximity, or if you use it for a solid tube-topped curtain - but in the case of the latter two, you wont see the pole at all and so may as well go for one of the cheaper ones. All in all, in fairness it is a good looking, quality product; and honestly I would consider buying more - but £30 for what is effectively a pretty small pole is possibly a bit too much to pay. EDIT NOTE: When I originally reviewed this, it was 70 quid which was ludicrous. Now it's at 30, I've updated my review to be fair, and 30 is a much more appropriate price - but still maybe a LITTLE steep compared to the options available.

Nice chrome tension rod for curtain

This looks nicer than in the picture. The title says black but I received a chrome one which looks very stylish. This rod is very easy to install and once in place it looks great. I've used it with a medium weight linen curtain and it does hold it perfectly. As you can install this without making any hole, I think this is perfect for those who rent.

Easy to Install

Easy to install - but - depending on your frame structure, frame style (paint, vinyl, etc.) it may not hold the weight of heavy curtains. Tends to slide down no matter how tight I made it. Of course I had to ease up when I heard the frame stretch too much
