Perfect

Given the price, my expectations were not high. At first I thought it was not 100% square, but it turned out that my table fence and blade were not 100% and this Mitre gauge was perfectly accurate. The packaging was superb and the materials used are solid and top quality. Easy and quick to hit all the common mitre angles with accuracy and no slop. The slider mechanism is easy to dial in so that it runs smoothly and true. The included stop is a nice feature I'm shocked to get such a good product at such a low price. 6 stars.

Outstanding materials were used, complimenting a high build quality, second to none!

Shipped in a well-engineered double box, with quality foam inserts. I thought again about the price point of this tooling. And I started to think that a mistake had been made. But re-reading the add I realized that this was the correct piece and really a (currently), "Underpriced" gem! (At $45)! The locating surfaces were, "I believe", (Finish ground) before a hard anodized surface was applied. Resulting in a very true, "And VERY flat" surface with which to work. I admired each part as I initially unboxed this beautiful piece! No directions, But I did not need any. And the few minutes it took me to fully assemble, allowed me to acquaint myself with this Mitre-Tool. This design was very well thought out. And it has several features which others, "Some costing more than three times as much" didn't think to add. Features that will be used to. And NOT, "Gimmicks"! No cheap, thin or flimsy materials were used here. Everything fits and works as it should. And simply it's heft is substantial. And it was easily adjusted for movements which reminded this one of my old "Swiss Micrometer sets"! This, in the perfect and easy way that "all" the parts of this worked in concert together! The radial gauge has easily read, and very "Deep" engraving. Which "Glides" through its scope of indexing. And they included a "Brass Knurled" nut for the locking of standard angle sets. And also, a very large (and hence), very easy to use "manual adjusting", "Knurled aluminum lock" for angles not so common. And as needed. This really is a "Class A - Journeyman", (Machinist Grade Tool)"! I could go on and on about this as an old "Tool & Die" making fellow. But I'll simply finish with this... You will be very happy with this purchase. And you would have at "Double" it's current price point too! "Period"! Good Luck! Don B. Astupid

Excellent for the price point

I have looked around quite a bit trying to find the most economical yet accurate mitre gauge for my shop. I'm so glad i went with this gauge. It is very sturdy and has a lot of the features that other much higher priced gauges have. Easy to put together. My only problem was that the keeper pin doesn't want to screw in easily on the 0 degree mark but other than that this is a solid piece.

A very well made tool for the price.

I gave this tool five stars because of it's overall quality. That said, there were some issues. I apparently purchased this as a returned item, not my intention, but my fault. Because of this there were minor parts missing. Specifically the two screws and nuts that hold the tee slot extrusion to the miter sled. Not a deal breaker. If you purchase this item, look closely at the packaging foam. Under the slide that goes into the table saw slot there is a small door which holds the blue push handle. It is light weight and could be overlooked causing some to think it was not included. I found fit and finish to be very good and the slide is adjustable for the miter slot of your table saw. This adjustment is OK but could be better; the plastic washers which adjust the slide in the table saw slot are very soft and tightening the screw causes them to push out and bind. I have a Grizzly table saw and found the adjustment to be too tight with the washer in place and too loose with them removed, My solution was to grind a taper on one side 180 degrees around from .05 inch off to 0 inches off on all fiber washers; creating an eccentric which allows me to rotate the washer till snug and then tighten down. I also had to shim the aluminum guide disc on handle end of the slide by .0030 to keep it from hitting the underside of the table slot. I find this tool to be much more robust than others at twice the price and out of the box accuracy is very good. You will need to make some minor adjustments to the fit your need before using, however I find this to be well worth the effort to have this tool. I would recommend that you use 1.25 inch T slot bolts and hand wheel nuts to hold the T slot extrusion to the miter. This will allow you to quickly adjust the extrusion right or left based your needs. I recommend this tool and feel that it was a good purchase. I hope this helps.

Lots of Potential, but Disappointing

Really poor assembly and use instructions. Two "features" are still a mystery to me. It was square out of the box, which is good. The trim block is nice, but won't work if you attach a sacrificial fence (which is important to many users). The metric/imperial scale is useless for two reasons: 1) It's designed for use on the right side of a table saw blade. I've never seen anyone use that side, and 2) the scale is etched into the fence, and for it to be accurate you have to place the fence against the blade ... something no one should ever do. You need an allen wrench to loosen and adjust the fence position when little thumb-screws would prevent you looking all over for the little wrench when you need it. Well made, but poorly designed.

Well made, sturdy, exquisite packaging

I bought this for my dwe7491rs table saw. Easy to adjust, easy to assemble, well made and came in the best protective packaging I have seen in a long time. It gave just enough movement to square up, but not much wiggle room. Although it was almost bang on. I really want to give it 5 stars, but it is designed to be used on the right side of the blade due to the way the rulers are etched. I would rather use it on the left side of the blade. My preference. I did take the advice of another reviewer and replaced the fence lock screws with adjustable knobs so I could easily move the fence left to right. Overall well made, I would buy again and recommend this product.

Excellent product, Sawstop users see notes in review.

This item was exactly as shown and in perfect condition when received. Very happy with the quality. Note to SawStop users: This has a good possibility of triggering the flesh sensor so needs the saw needs to be run in bypass mode to use as is with fence next to blade for measuring (forgot about the flesh sensor when purchasing this). I don't like turning off the safetys but am so happy with how well it works that I am just going to 3d print a short extension to the fence so the metal never comes close to the blade. With the sawstop tracks it does take some very fine micro adjusting to get it to run smoothly without the track wheels coming off the end of the screws. Instructions could be better. Probably not a problem if you are an old hand using this kind of accessory but if you are a first timer with this kind of thing, printing a picture of this item and taking it to the saw with your will save a bit of time :D
