Not too well designed.

The main problem is that it's designed to have the valve screw in from the inside, which is next to impossible due to clearance issues. The best way I found to do it, is just screw the valve into your gas pipe, enlarge the hole in the plastic housing, and slip the housing over the valve.

Makes for a clean install.

I used this box when adding a gas line for my new range. It bolted to my metal studs with no problems, though i did add a screw inside the box to give it some torsional stability. I couldnt quite figure out what the L shaped bracket was for. It connected to my CSST piping with no problem. Overall, good quality looks nice compared to a stub sticking out of the wall.

item is exactly as described... its a bit bigger than i expected... meaning, for a small gas outlet, its like a 6-8" diameter hole in the wall... it can be mounted either on the left or right stud... same brand and quality as the local hardware store...

A good idea but lousy execution

A good idea but lousy execution. The guy who wrote the instructions failed his ESL class. I received a collection of un-related parts. I have no use for a 1/2 inch pipe plug or a 3/4 inch nut for this installation. Nothing makes sense or fits each other. Is it possible for the Factory to send the proper components? NOT SATISFIED.
