This is the kind to use for a fiberglass tub surround to mount a grab bar.

I called the company to find out how to install a different kind of wingits anchor that was recommended to install a grab bar and was told of the proper one to use for a fiberglass tub surround. She not only walked me step by step how to install it but found the best price for it! The price may seem steep but definitely worth the peace of mind knowing my dad is safe!

Needed where no wood studs are near to attach grab bar to shower wall securely.

After drilling 1-1/4 inch hole in tile wall and installing Wingits 1-1/2inch grab bar base holders in tile wall, thus enabling installation of grab bar secure to tile wall.

These things are amazing! I had some installed a few years ago ...

These things are amazing! I had some installed a few years ago and they are still in place... no problems what-so-ever. When I had my master bath remodeled the butt-heads that installed my new grab bars thought they knew everything and used drywall screws and glue to attach them. Of course they actually fell off of the wall after about ten months of use. I tried to contact them to come and fix their screw-up but they had changed their name of business and claimed they did the job right. I tried to sue them for damages and several items that they stole from my home to no avail. Back to the Wingits, they can literally hold a tremendous amount of weight from a standstill. When the original company installed the grab bars in the front bath, the installer called me in to watch him, about three hundred pounds, grab the bar and hold himself up for about three or four minutes and nothing happened. The greatest selling point I have ever seen! Therefore, I have bought some to repair the ridiculous job that was done in my master bath. I am getting ready to do the job myself so I know I will be satisfied.

Great for fiberglass shower, a slight pain to install

I installed a Wingits grab bar in the shower of an elderly client of mine. Took about 30 minutes and wasn't too hard, though I did find that your holes need to be REALLY dead on accurate. Mine were about 1/16 too far apart but I did manage to get the bar installed. Making sure that the holes in the brackets lined up to the corresponding ones on the bar was a little bit of a pain, as there's adhesive on the underside of the brackets, and once you push it in, it's hard to move, though it can be done. Even still, I'd use these again. Was very sturdy once installed.

Bathroom grab bar.

Used a off brand grab bar that worked fine with a little work on the wingits. Installed the wingits onto the grab bar ( see photo) to be sure holes would match up. Removed the cover on the sticky part and placed the unit into the holes, then removed the screws holding the grab bar to the wingits. Opened the wingits in the wall with the attached screw , then put the grab bar back on and was finished. That wasn't the bar made for the wingits but with a little engineering you can make it work. Worth the extra work. The WingIts RC-WA200GT54 APACHE200 Drill Bit 1-1/4 Inch , did not work ( see second photo). So I used a 1 1/4 inch diamond hole saw to cut through the tile and backer board ( see second photo then third photo) . Thanks.

Best grab bar mounts I've been able to find

Easy to install and hold secure. Has held a 225lb+ man falling several times without budging. Still tight in the wall. Have not used these in the shower/tub area where I installed blocking prior to remodel in anticipation of someone needing to mount grab bars in the future.
