Should Have Found These Years Ago

My entire life, my family used the same metal, card-table-style TV trays from at least the 1980s, possibly from the '70s. Over time, they became wobbly, kind of rusty, the pins had started coming out of the legs, and the decals had peeled off the surface. Last month, they finally gave out, so I went looking for a sturdy, solid wood, affordable replacement set, and ideally a set that would have a bit more style than the last ones. These trays are exceptional. They match our espresso-finished living room furniture perfectly (ALMOST black, but not quite), and the surface has a beautiful shine, like any high-quality finished wood - but more importantly, they're solid as a rock. No more worries about losing our dinners to the carpet. You can lean your elbows on them while you eat, and they don't go anywhere. Plus they're exactly the right height for sitting on a couch, and they seem to be heat-treated, because hot dishes don't leave any steam marks under the finish. (Not sure whether condensation might leave water marks on them, because we use coasters on them - we plan to keep these looking nice for as many years as possible - but I'm sure they'd stand up to moisture just fine, too.) They're very heavy, but that just makes them sturdier, so I'm not complaining. Anyone who might have trouble grabbing them from the top should carry them by the edges on each side. My mom has arthritis and can handle them just fine. The best part, besides the great quality, is that I found them on sale for almost half off. So if they're out of your price range, add them to your droplist and wait. They're worth it.

Sturdy

Very happy with this, it’s a nice color and heavier than expected. Large surface is exactly what I wanted.

Nice but very heavy

These are sturdy and nice looking tables. They are very heavy, so if you maybe don’t have good grip or struggle with lifting things, I suggest looking elsewhere. I have issues with my wrist and have to be super careful with these. Mostly just ask my bf to assist. Also wish they had some sort of lock to keep them open/closed to make it a little easier to move. I moved one while it was open once and it ended up closing, falling over & tearing up the back of my foot. Couldn’t walk for a week. I understand it’s user error, but if it locked while it was open, it could have possibly prevented that from happening.

Dangerous

They sure do look nice but they did not put a slot under the bottom of the second part of the legs so be careful when you pick them up or to move them you have to grab with both hands. Otherwise they fold up on you and you don't even realize it till your hand is smashed. Really disappointed in these for what I paid for them and they weren't a good price.
